Do you personally like getting suggestions for books?

I will take suggestions, you can find a lot of great books that way. I just don't like being nagged about reading a book.

I do, personally. I'm a big fan of getting suggestions, because then, I don't have to dig through the bookstore to find one that I like.

I don't have a problem with it, in fact I quite enjoy listening to someone getting all enthused about a book they have read even if the book would not interest me in the slightest. I just like that people are readers.
Although I would not necessarly take up every suggestion made to me.

I love getting suggestions. I seem to always aim to look for the same books, so suggestions are a great way of reading new and different books

I have one friend whose tastes in literature are solid. I'll listen to her. The rest of them don't read. I've
told them they're going to hell.

I really enjoy getting recommendations from others - however it is sometimes hard if I read the book and I don't agree with their review. Then I think to myself - to each their own!

Suggestions are great so long as at the end of the day you are free to decide without feeling obligated.

As long as it's someone whose opinion I trust. If a random stranger offered a suggestion, I don't know how I'd feel about it. I've had great suggestions from friends and family.

I really like having personal suggestions because then whoever suggested the book can talk with me about it and we can have a good time. They're also good for me because the people that would suggest a book to me know me on a personal level, and know what I like. So yeah, that's pretty much it

I like it if I know that I have similar tastes with the person giving the recommendation, but I hate when people try and force books on me that I have no interest in reading. My old boss was trying to get me into erotica (which I'm not against...it's just not for me.) Well he went out and bought a book for me to read and then I felt obligated to read it.

I'm pretty selective about receiving book suggestions... Mostly because I can imagine I don't have the same tastes like other person or I can have a different opinion than them. And because I have enough books I have to read anyway

Yeah exactly that's the thing! If someone gives you a present or just even a suggestion you feel compelled to read that book! Even if you might not like it...

I do. I love when someone tells me just a bit about a book, usually it immediately sparks my interest. It's also a good thing when you don't have an idea what to read next. But the down side is when people get offended if you don't choose to read the book, or if you do and don't like it. Not everyone has the same taste in books, but its hard to keep that in mind if you really like a book.
