From what I gather, this book delves into American history during a crucial period. The story is built around the Dakota War of 1862 and emphasizes the lasting impact of the war on settlers and Native Americans. Congrats on BOTD!

Hi @ Eva Nyaburi, I just read your comments on the official review of "Blood Summer 1862" and I was disappointed that you did not write comments that would encourage other members to read this book. While this story is a combination of history and fiction there is so much more in this story including Thomas Jefferson discussing a proposal to support John Jacob Astor's fur trader proposal, the battle in Ohio that killed Captain Rogers and 45 of his men by a traitor that aligned with the British and Native Americans to attack American soldiers. @Mrlefty0706

As a prospective reader, I’m drawn to the way you describe the intricate weaving of real historical events with fictional narratives, especially against such a significant backdrop of American history.
