Dr Laura has grown up with a love for Africa, so when a volunteering opportunity is offered at a mission hospital in Ethiopia, she jumps at the chance. There is a medical mystery to solve and cultures to experience. It was easy to connect with Dr Laura’s character.

'Official Review: The Hyena's Stare' by Sandra Clark is a thoroughly entertaining description of the fiction story about fighting against the spread of a disease. it presents all the elements of the story. The point that the book describes Dr. Laura London's riveting journey of the outbreak of a mysterious plague's origin is worth mentioning in the review. Readers would join Dr. Laura on her thrilling adventure to an unfamiliar land. Also, as mentioned in the review, the book combines medical mystery and cultural exploration in a compelling narrative. Learning that Laura London's story beautifully combines cultural explorations, wildlife in Africa, and the selflessness often found in doctors was great!

I always appreciate a female head wherever I see one, especially one that's doing so well. It's so bad that these days I just want to watch movies about career women. Congrats to the author for winning BOTD!

Who hasn’t dreamed of going on safari, much less a medically-charitable safari with elements of suspense? I’m in. Great review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting young adult thriller story following a doctor tasked with discovering the source of a mysterious disease in rural Ethiopia and attempting to cure it. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Great review! This sounds like a fascinating book. Although I have no desire to go to Africa—it would be too dangerous—I have heard that it is beautiful and the animals are magnificent. This book will let me explore the country without going there myself.
