Interesting topic thread. I was actually just at the library downloading audiobooks for a 28 hour road trip I'm going to be taking soon. I like to read the real thing, but do find that if I just listen to books when I'm traveling I finish them a lot faster.

I have to say both though I love the feeling of an actual book in my hands.

I think audio books can be really cool. They sort of help you to imagine everything in a better context because of the sound effects. But still I can't help but to prefer paper books just because they make you feel more comfortable.

I have honestly never tried an audiobook before. I feel like I would get distracted too easily and not be able to focus exclusively on the book.

The real thing for me although if I'm on a road trip, I won't turn down a great audio book. The best one I ever listened to was "Into Thin Air" by jon Krakauer. It made a 10 hour car trip seem like 2 hours. Very suspenseful and completely engaging. But at home I love to hold a book and turn the pages the old fashioned way!

Real Thing definitely! I prefer the voice in my head over the voice of someone else. This also grants me the ability to reread if I have to.

Audiobooks tend to sound like a lecture after some time and will make you nod off eventually! nothing like a book in your hand and a cup of coffee to go with it !

I like audiobooks, but its too easy to let my mind drift or get distracted by something else when trying to listen to one. I guess I really prefer an actual book because holding it and physically turning the pages seems to keep me more engaged and into the moment.

I definitely love the feel of a good book in my hands but I also love listening to audiobooks in the car. There's no better way to pass a long drive than to get into a great story that's being read to you. Sometimes the reading styles and voices are a bit annoying but you get used to that and get sucked into the story.

Normally I would say a real book, I sometimes even have problems after a while reading an ebook. I miss the pages between in fingers. But I have found Audiobooks to be very useful lately, with three kids and errands I go through alot more books being about to listen to it in the care or while I am cleaning.
