Divorce affects children in a big way. They lack the core family foundation and are always torn by moving

I think that divorce has a more profound impact on children than on parents. Since children are not directly involved in the decision to end the marriage, they are often more deeply affected by the consequences.

One thing I have learned out of a divorce out of experience is that the parents move on with their new life and sometimes, (not all of the time) the SO of one or both parents are put first.

I think if handled properly, divorce should not impact children all too much. Children are much more understanding and resilient than we give them credit for and the majority of them, while they might be confused or hurt at the beginning, would definitely understand and be happy for their loving parents. However, with the way the divorce was handled in this book, I'm not surprised by Lea's reaction to it and her subsequent hurt and denial.

Children are the biggest lovers in a divorce. When parents fight, it is the children that suffer from it.

To a large extent, Divorce can sometimes affect children's academic performance and their ability to form and maintain friendships.

No matter how strong children try to be, their parents' separation creates a vacuum in their hearts, one that isn't meant to be left empty. So, to fill this void, the children do things searching for that same affection somewhere else. Divorce affects the children to a great extent.
