As for me there are some periods when I am ready to read everything and I read everything, but then I stop for some time to digest everything that I have read.

I just got out of this stage. I went like two months without reading which sucked, but since i'm a "always on call" manager it makes it a wee bit harder to even try to read.

Usually if I'm not reading it's because I'm too busy... but I recently returned to college so I spend so much time reading textbooks and such that I can't really stand to read for pleasure... which is unfortunate because I love reading. Now I find myself watching TV simply because it's a different medium, and I use to rarely ever watch TV. I have about 7 books on my shelf that I REALLY want to get to, and something like 14 eBooks.

Yes, I definitely get bored but, most of the time, I force myself to read and I usually get sucked in (as long as the book I'm reading is interesting). I've read at least three chapters a day for the past five months and I've read 15 books. And I also read three different kinds of books at a time so that I don't get bored of a certain genre. And if you're reading a book that's boring you, put it down and pick up another one and keep trying until you find a book that really suits you.

I go through long droughts without reading quite often throughout my life. I want to start making a habit of reading at least one chapter a day. I think maybe this might help.

My issue isn't necessarily getting bored with it, at least most of the time, but I'll pick up my current book and try getting into it w/no luck.

Even if it's a book I absolutely adore nothing will make sense and i have to give up.

I can definitely relate to this as well. Sometimes I get halfway through a book and then just stop. It's kind of weird because usually the book is quite good (has to be for me to get half way through it) and eventually I pick back up again, weeks or months later.

Yeah, haha, though I usually pick it back up like 10 hours later or the next day, but it bugs the crap out of me when I can't get into it and I really want to read.

Reading? No. Certain authors or genres, yes. That's part of the reason that I skip around between both.
Adventure...one part stupidty plus two parts perseverence....yeah, that's me!

Never! I may get tired of a certain genre but always eager to start a new book. Finding the time to read isn't always easy though

I agree with you in the sense that reading habits for myself can also be fairly sporadic. When I become busy with work/school/other daily duties, I tend to read at a slower pace, yet my desire is no less. It just becomes harder to focus with an overloaded sub-conscious.
