Overall Opinion: "Demonslayer" by Ian P. Eviston is a captivating fantasy novel that excels in character development and intricate world-building. The storyline is engaging, with well-balanced elements of action, emotion, and moral dilemmas.

What I Like Most: I appreciate the depth of the characters and how their personal struggles and growth are portrayed. Spirit's journey and the dynamics within his squad, combined with the political intrigue among the demons, add layers of complexity to the story.

What I Like Least: There are few negatives to point out, but if I had to choose, some readers might find the darker themes and violence a bit overwhelming.

Writing Style: Eviston’s writing style is vivid and descriptive, making it easy to visualize scenes and empathize with characters. The transitions between different perspectives are smooth, keeping the narrative cohesive and engaging.

Genre: The primary genre of "Demonslayer" is fantasy. However, it also incorporates elements of action, adventure, political intrigue, and a touch of dark fantasy.

Cover and Title: The cover and title are both fitting for the book. They effectively convey the epic and intense nature of the story, attracting fans of the fantasy genre.

Greatest Lesson: The greatest lesson from "Demonslayer" is the importance of resilience and the lengths one will go to protect loved ones. It also touches on themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the complexities of moral choices in times of conflict.

Recommendation: I would highly recommend this book to fans of fantasy and action-adventure genres. The rich character development, engaging plot, and thought-provoking themes make it a compelling read. However, I would caution sensitive readers about the mild violence and darker elements.

Overall, I think that the novel has a rich fictional universe with well-constructed characters.

What I like most is that the protagonists have their own backstories that are explored in the novel, which give them their motives.

What I like least is that in the end, the demons are quite mundane, as their society and families resemble those of humans.

The writing style is easy to follow, and I think the author got some inspiration from manga and anime.

The genre is fantasy with a setting that seems more like science fiction, as it's set on a planet with technology that's even more advanced than our current level.

I don't read much about cover and title.

The lessons you can learn from the novel are about the importance of strong relationships, within your family and also with other people you can rely on.

I recommend this novel to fans of fantasy stories with coming-of-age elements and don't mind some gory descriptions.

I loved the detail and character development. The author made the story's characters easy to connect with. Since I wrote the featured review, my recommendation wouldn't be for young people; if a movie was made that depicts the book accurately, it would be rated R because of the graphic violence. Loyalty and believing you can do anything you set your mind to are big lessons. The emotional turmoil was intense.

It was sometimes disturbing to me to read about the brutal scenes in the book. It almost made me quit. On the other side, as a psychologist, I found the charachers' psycho types very interesting.

My overall opinion was that of a good, solid, cleverly written and lasting epic story that will entertain a young adult for days. I enjoyed the characters and liked that some archdemons had semi-likeable personalities. It took place in a magical world but with very human conditions, like cancer, love and familial bonds.

I liked the most was the medieval, or ‘lord of the rings’ tone, it was exiting, and well balanced.

I didn’t quite like the length. It could have been 60 pages shorter. I always find long books tedious. Although I realise in some ways the length was important. Also, I’m a big fan of the occasional good illustration.

The writing style was excellent. It has been carefully thought out and developed right from the start. Not many flowery descriptions which would have been out of place.

The genre, overall, is that of fantasy fiction, with battles, heroism and quiet, thinking ‘human’ parts throughout.

The cover was simply, medieval in tone, with a mysterious box. The reader will pick up the book and read ‘demonslayer’ and wonder how it all fits together with the cover. It’s obviously a fantasy book from those two elements.

The messages are that even the most dastardly of charm perhaps have a sympathetic side. Looking at Russia’s invasion of Ukraine perhaps. Good prevails over evil. Family is important. Most people are good.

I recommend this book to 14 year olds and older. It’s not really an adult book, but would probably be enjoyed by many adults. Both male and females.

Demonslayer by Ian P. Eviston felt like entering a Marvel world with magic and complex moral shades. I loved the intricate world-building, rich mythology, and nuanced elemental magic. The found family trope was well-executed, with Spirit as a compelling protagonist. However, the numerous POVs made it hard to keep track of all characters. The writing style was engaging, balancing action with deep lore. The fantasy genre is enriched with themes of heroism, family, and moral ambiguity. The cover could be more detailed. Overall, the book offers valuable lessons on loyalty and sacrifice. I would recommend it for its imaginative and thrilling narrative.

"Demonslayer" by Ian P. Eviston is a gripping fantasy with great characters and a rich world. The story mixes action, emotions, and tough choices really well. I love how deeply the characters grow, especially Spirit and his squad's dynamics. There's also juicy political intrigue among the demons that keeps things interesting. Some might find the darker themes and violence a bit much, though. Eviston's writing paints vivid scenes and makes you feel for the characters. Overall, it's a fantasy with action, adventure, and a touch of darkness, perfect for fantasy fans. The cover and title match the epic vibe. It teaches resilience and tough choices in conflict, making it a solid read for fantasy and action-adventure lovers, but be aware of its darker side if you're sensitive.
