ARA Review by Rituraj Mishra of The Secrets To Living A Fantastic Life...

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

"The Secrets To Living A Fantastic Life"

Two Survivors Reveal The 13 Golden Pearls They've Discovered" is the very inspirational and uplifting read by Dr. Allen Lycka and Harriet Tinka. On the authors' discovery of what they term "13 Golden Pearls"—life principles through which they believe anybody can live a full and fantastic life—personal anecdotes, practical wisdom, and motivational insights are interwoven into the structure of the book.

Dr. Allen Lycka—a cosmetic dermatologist—and Harriet Tinka, a former model and youth speaker, both went through difficult times in life. Lycka was misdiagnosed with ALS, which is the scientific abbreviation of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, while Tinka was brutally attacked and disfigured with scars both physically and psychologically. Their own stories of overcoming adversity provided the framework for this book and set an inspiring context around their lessons.

The 13 Golden Pearls are quite literally a series of chapters that cover single principles. Among these are Love, Inspiration, Victory, Vulnerability, and many more. Each chapter also does not just explore the meaning but the importance of the particular pearl shared, besides giving practical tips for living out those principles day by day. In this way, the book is at once a narrative of triumph and a guide to self-improvement.

One of the genuine strengths of this book is that it is so approachable. The writing is very clear and engaging; it makes complex ideas understandable and useful in application. The authors have used a conversational style that creates the feeling of a reader getting advice from trusted friends, not reading a self-help manual. This tractability is further enhanced with the addition of personal stories that underpin the principles discussed, adding depth and relatability to them.

Another powerful element in the book should be the interplay between the perspectives of Lycka and Tinka. These are very distinct voices with different experiences, and blending them imparts further richness to the tapestry of insights. It is the synergy of a medical background and an analytical approach on Lycka's side with the emotional, intuitive style of Tinka, both standing as poles when considering each golden pearl. At the same time, this dual perspective is powerfully effective in showing how universal these principles are, reaching beyond various aspects of life and personal circumstances.

Inspirational quotes, thought-provoking questions, and actionable steps also make the book excellent. Such features help to get readers reflecting on their lives and gain a sense of the content. The reflection questions at the end of each chapter are very important in personal development, trying to outline information to one deeply on how he can apply these principles concretely.

Though a great deal of the advice in this book is idealistic and some downright repetitive, it is nevertheless full of great advice. The person who has read several self-help books will find that, although the principles are universal, some are quite obvious. Also, while the tone is very uplifting in general, some people, especially those going through very hard times and in search of more complex solutions, will find it a bit too simplistic.

Well, still in a nutshell, "The Secrets To Living A Fantastic Life" is a heartfelt and motivational read, full of experience-driven practical wisdom. There are 13 Golden Pearls given by Lycka and Tinka that are comprehensive enough to give any person a structure by which to live, considering any circumstance. Its engaging style and intellectual and emotional insights thus make this book useful for any person who looks for self-improvement, while stumbling upon the meaning to be sought out of chaotic happenings in life. Though with some minor flaws, its central message of resilience, positivity, and personal growth is powerful and universal.
