I do my best to complete any book I start, for some reason my brain looks at unfinished books/book series as unfinished projects. If a book is really uninteresting, it can be hard to complete, but you never know, it might get better as it goes along!

I keep reading and hope for the best. I always finish it just to make sure I don't miss out on anything, such as a surprise ending. To stay focused, I'll read another book at the same time just to make sure I don't lose interest in the aspect of literature because of it.

After I get through about 2 chapters and I know I don't like it, I'll put it down. Sometimes I come back to it later. But usually I'm done with it for a long time or forever.

It is sad, but if a book doesn't have enough fuel to get the imagination pumping then it will have to be put aside. There is always another book on the list. And luckily I don't purchase books, only check out, so I don't end up feeling too guilty for not reading them.

I just push through because as I mentioned in other posts I only buy books and i dont "rent" or whatever or "borrow" so I would feel very guilty to buy a book and not read it

Typically I will set the book aside and move on. I have encountered several books rather like walking through wet cement and promptly returned to the shelf (pre Kindle). Pulling the same book or loading on e-reader at a later date a few of those books turned into a good read. To answer the question: depends on what creates the lack of interest. A shallow story or poor story line will be recycled or simply removed from device.

LOL, I am with Tralala. I usually push through it, but since I gave the author the benefit of the doubt that it was just a slow start, I don't read a second book.

I go by the first 100 pages. I have a thing where if the book doesn't capture my interest right away, I won't read it as quickly so i just read the first 100 pages and if it doesn't capture my interest by then, Its added to my future-to-be-read-when-you-are-bored pile.

If a book doesn’t catch my interest then I find it hard to finish reading. I do try to read much off it as possible hoping it will get better the further on I read but if it does not keeping my curiosity then I don’t see the point in finishing it.

I finish it some how even if it is not interesting. I may skip pages or rush through many pages, but I do like to know the ending, how much ever painfully boring it maybe.

If it is required for school I procrastinate, otherwise I just return it to the library.
