Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

In the culturally charged environment of 1970s Nigeria, Spradlin's cultural sensitivity would have been a key asset. By demonstrating respect for local customs and navigating the intricacies of communication, he likely built trust with the people he encountered. This trust could have proved invaluable in gathering information, finding allies, and ultimately, understanding the complexities surrounding Freddie's disappearance. Cultural sensitivity would have allowed Spradlin to navigate the unspoken rules and political climate, giving him a crucial edge in his quest.

Spradlin's cultural sensitivity at the time played a key part in getting him the information he needed as well as assistance in finding his client. He was able to solve getting in and out of the airports by understanding the culture at the time. He was also able to make friends with people in the area to gain further information about what happened to Freddie. By also attempting to speak the local language, he was seen as less of a foreigner and was able to uncover more information from his sources who then looked at him with some respect. Knowing the language also helped him to not get trapped at the airport multiple times.

Mr Richard’s cultural sensitivity was his superpower. He was able to communicate with virtually everyone because he paid attention to the culture and people, He ate the Nigerian food while he was in Nigeria and tried to learn the way they speak, Which wasn’t usual, therefore this helped him in navigating this social political situations and earned him a good name with the NSO.

Spradlin was very well-versed in the customs of the region and different groups there. So much of this seems bizarre to me having no background knowledge. I was baffled that he and his partners knew how much money each person would consider fair for their position.

Hi!
How do you think Spradlin's cultural sensitivity helped him in his quest?

Richard Spradlin was very smart when communicating with other people. He was out to get answers for Ruth about her husband, and he delivered. His cultural sensitivity worked like a charm. Also leaving generous tips to anyone who helped him strengthened communication and friendships.

I feel that that was the key element in his quest. If he wasn't culturally sensitive. He would have failed his quest.

Reading" *Quest: Finding Freddie: Reflections from the Other Side* felt like stepping into a surreal dialogue between realms. Spradlin's narrative doesn't just explore grief; it personifies it, giving it a voice and a face that is haunting yet strangely comforting. I found myself grappling with the concept of 'unfinished business' not just for Freddie, but for myself as well. The prose is raw, almost like a bruise—painful yet impossible to ignore. It's not a book that seeks to console; it's a book that demands introspection and challenges our very understanding of closure and the afterlife.
