Columbus operated under a colonialist and strictly Eurocentric worldview. He was, as they say, a man of his time. But it's essential that we revisit this narrative and stop celebrating the alleged discovery of America to get a more sobering, realistic understanding of our past. Congratulations.

Marcus Wilson did a commendable and an outstanding job in this historical fiction, giving it an imaginary illustration and a clingy-like lure that would get one glued to the amazing work till the very end..

The repulsive will power of the tainos people that made them not to relent or give up till the very last despite the sovereignty of their trade slavers makes me want to Know more about the European history..i hope this book feeds my craving to the very last.

'Official Review: Columbus, Slave Trader' by Marcus Wilson has a solid introduction. It describes the main ideas of the book. The point that the author described true historical events that transpired in Hispaniola between 1493 and 1495 is worth mentioning in the review. Readers would find many of the events described and the characters in the book as historical, accurate, and recorded. Also, as mentioned in the review, the author describes Columbus as a slave trader rather than an explorer. It was great to learn that the book offers a unique perspective on history!

I love historical books based on actual events. I wonder what Guarocuya's role in Admiral Columbus' plans of slave trading.

Thank you for the great review.

Thank you for your inclusive review on "Columbus, Slave Trader" by Marcus Wilson. Having read other books on Columbus, the slave trade, pilgrims and early historical government, I am currently on overflow on this information if that is ever possible. As much as this book by Marcus Wilson sounds like a sound historical read, I am passing this one by. Congratulations to him for BOTD though.

I am surprised Columbus was a slave trader as alleged. He has been historically portrayed as an explorer and nothing more. Thanks for the insightful review.

I've always read about Christopher Columbus and how he discovered America. I never knew he was involved in slavery. This book makes an eye-opening revelation about a historical icon.

Columbus, Slave Trader by Marcus Wilson reevaluates our understanding of Christopher Columbus. It reveals that the initial transatlantic slave ships did not carry captive Africans from Africa to America. Instead, the very first slave ships embarked from the New World to Europe, carrying 500 captured Native Americans. Their enslaver? Columbus himself. The harrowing voyage resulted in only 80 survivors, highlighting the heart-wrenching toll of this pivotal moment in history. 📚🌎

Joshua Sawders wrote: 13 May 2024, 15:53 Wow, this review definitely makes Columbus, Slave Trader by Marcus Wilson sound like an intriguing and eye-opening read! I appreciate how the author uses a native narrator to provide a fresh perspective on the historical events. It's fascinating to learn about the lesser-known aspect of Columbus as a slave trader. The reviewer's admiration for Guarocuya's loyalty and bravery is inspiring. The book seems to have captured the reader's attention from start to finish without any drawbacks. Based on this detailed and positive review, I'm definitely adding Columbus, Slave Trader to my reading list! Absorbing pacing, kept the story moving briskly.
That was a bit helping and encouraging to put this book on my bookshelves

I never knew about this side of Columbus, and having a native narrator to offer an “outside perspective” is intriguing. Thank you for the great review!

I couldn't agree more with your review! Marcus Wilson’s portrayal of Admiral Columbus in "Columbus, Slave Trader" as a figure who played a significant role in the early slave trade is both enlightening and compelling. Guarocuya’s loyalty and courage truly stand out, and the impeccable editing makes the narrative even more impactful. It's indeed a must-read for history enthusiasts!

"Columbus, Slave Trader" by Marcus Wilson challenges the traditional narratives that portray Columbus as a heroic explorer and instead highlights his involvement in the enslavement and exploitation of indigenous peoples in the Americas. Columbus, Slave Trader is an essential read for anyone interested in history, social justice, and the ongoing impact of colonialism.

In this historical fiction, the narrator Guarocuya a native of Hispaniola lifts the curtains from the unknown aspects of slave trading at the hands of Columbus.
