Other than very rare situations when I can't get carried away while listening to them in the background, I enjoy reading in peace. I don't like anything else getting in the way of my reading.

I also need any background music to not have words or I find it very distracting. I’ve used classical music before but it has to go with the mood of the story. I love the ambient mixer app. It’s just sounds mixed together to create a mood or a scenario. I like to choose background noises that go with what I’m reading. It’s a more immersive experience.

No. Often I focus on reading or even listening to books.

No. I am the kind of person who easily gets distracted so I try to maintain studying and reading in a very quiet environment.

I actually do not like listening to music when I read. I like imagining the entire novel in my head and I find that much easier to do without any music.

For me, it depends on the type of book I’m reading. Sometimes, I enjoy ambient music or instrumental tracks to help me focus, especially if the book is more relaxed or contemplative. Classical music or movie soundtracks work well for me in those cases. And on the other hand, if I’m diving into something intense or emotionally charged, I prefer complete silence so I can fully immerse myself in the story.

I never listen to music while reading. I am amazed that some people can do so. It takes the fun out of reading for me sure a little tune is fine but full blown music. It makes me loose my concentration and I cannot fully dive into the world that the book has created for me.

No. I don't prefer listening to music while reading a book because I like to focus 100% of my attention on the book. I find music a little bit distracting. This is my personal preference.

I hate distractions when I read. Though I love music. It becomes a distraction if it gets in the way of my reading.

I do sometimes now or with the tv on in the background, but when I was teenager I only read with music blaring in my headphones.
