Re: Have you ever changed your mind as for your favorite boo
However, I have had it happen where a book that a friend and I loved, she years later re-read and declared it seemed "childish" now, whereas when I re-read it, it seemed to contain great wisdom that I had not appreciated the first time around.
We are not the same person when we go back to a book.

It seems that when it comes to books, one lifetime choice is most likely not to be the safest option.TrishaAnn92 wrote:For that reason I haven't picked a favorite book! I will read one book and dub itbmy favorite then come across another book!

"We are not the same person when we go back to a book."
Simple and wise.

It happened to me too, but with a film instead.

Better books will always come along that will replace the current favorite.

Right now it's The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Before that it was Possession by AS Byatt. Cloud Atlas. Love in the Time of Cholera. As a kid, it was A Wrinkle in Time and A Little Princess and Laura Ingalls. Anne of Green Gables. Judy Blume had her year, and there was even the year of the cheesy romance.
If a book grabs me and wraps me tightly up in the lives of the characters and those people become as real to me as my own face in the mirror, it's a favorite.

I find it easier to list your favourite book/s from several authors too. Although I never have an immediate answer.kelleys4girls wrote:My favorite tends to change with the next great one I read. When someone asks my favorite, I am never able to say only one. I'm better at listing favorite authors and giving a few titles by each.

My "current" favourite books are not necessarily the ones that touch me on a personal level though.

I think that's a mature answer.lyndsie_anna wrote:yeah, for me i feel like I'm just constantly adding to a list of favorites. My favorites from my childhood are still there, but they're there for different reasons than they were to begin with. And I'm constantly adding more.

Sorry, it's just that reading that sentence while staring at your Garfield avatar makes it sound so cute...

Actually, that's very true. Mood does influences, specially if one is very susceptible!bludragon wrote:yes, all the time, love to read so it changes a lot. Also depends on mood.
