I prefer silence when I read, however if the book is a good one, I can block out all outside noise - so it doesn't matter where I am or what is going on around me!

I usually need silence, if I listen to music I end up not remembering what I read or having to reread sentences or even paragraphs.

I can read while listening to music and not be distracted by it. But I do not need music to be able to get into my book. Silence is good enough for me. What I find hard is trying to read while other people around me are talking because then I space out on what I'm reading because I am trying to listen to them talk. I can listen to any kind of music while reading.

I prefer no music. I've always been that way. But sometimes my significant other has other plans for her agenda. So I usually have to read with the television or radio on.

Sometimes. It depends on my mood and the book I am reading.

I don't like to listen to all types of music when I read, but I do like some. Celtic music is my favorite, probably because I started listening to it while reading and studying at such a young age. It's comforting and relaxing.

Kinda strange, I don't like to read with music on but when I am writing I like having music playing. It helps the ideas flow and get the typing going faster.

For a while it is relaxing to have soft music playing, but eventually it gets on my nerves. It's as if the music is competing for my attention and starts getting distracting.

I can't listen to music while I read, because I get the overwhelming urge to dance! And, it's difficult to dance and read at the same time!

I usually put my music on shuffle, but I get so into it that I forget it's on. But sometimes, the music would be in sync with a scene, and I'm just mind blown at how well they mix together.

I wouldn't say I can't listen to music while I read, but it can be distracting. Same with the tv being on. If the book I am reading is really good or I am really interested in it, then background noise doesn't bother me at all. But I generally don't like to compete with background noise while I'm reading.

I do, depending on the tone of the book and how it makes me feel.

I can read with the tv on as background music but never with music.

If the book I have is a good one you could play a brass band beside me and I wouldn't hear a thing - lost in my own world

Sometimes! It really depends what I'm reading. If a book has a playlist associated with it from the author, I'll generally implement that into my reading.
Now it's all change, it's got to change more
Cause we think it's getting better
But nobody's really sure
