Keeping Up With the Past

So I read A LOT. I also review the books I read on various sites/publications. I missed my calling as an English major in college, and therefore have some pretty embarrassing gaps in the classics department. But with all the new books that come out, I have a fairly constant battle going on in my head.

Do I take the time to catch up on canon? Or do I put more effort into stay abreast of new releases?

Please tell me I'm not alone in this!

You are not alone in this. I find it a constant battle to make decisions regarding classics vs contemporary.
