**Review of *The High Queen* through Janet Morris**

*The High Queen* by way of Janet Morris is a charming delusion novel that attracts readers into a richly imagined world of political intrigue and epic journey. Set inside the legendary land of Ebonvale, the story follows the journey of Queen Elara, who should navigate treacherous courtroom politics and outside threats to steady her nation’s future.

**Pros:**

1. **Complex World-Building:** Morris excels in creating a detailed and immersive fantasy placing. Ebonvale is richly textured, with a properly-developed records, numerous cultures, and a complex political landscape that enhances the narrative’s depth.

2. **Strong Characterization:** Queen Elara is a compelling protagonist. Her improvement from a reluctant ruler to a decisive leader is portrayed with nuance. The secondary characters, inclusive of allies and antagonists, are nicely-rounded and make a contribution considerably to the plot’s progression.
