I love books by James Patterson and especially the women's murder club series. Two of my favorites are "the 6th Target" and "Pop goes the weasel"

For an author, I recommend Ann Rule, she has a lot of excellent true crime.

For a fiction murder mystery, I highly recommend You Say Goodbye by Keith Stienbaum.

If you want a mystery, but not necessarily a murder mystery, I recommend the Foxglove Corner mystery series by Dorothy Bodin, they are on kindle unlimited for free and have dogs!

I love the classic Agatha Christie mysteries. Then, of course, there's Rebecca, which is typically not classified as a murder mystery. And, Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes too, if you are willing to give it a try.
