Drunk Talk by Mike Davis & TL Banks is a work of fiction in which the authors share their opinions about many aspects of life and discuss them in this book. Right from the beginning one will notice how straightforward the authors are and don't shy away from using profanity. Having said that, there are many motivating quotes that will pleasantly surprise you and make you think, "Wow, that's a nice thought." There are what the authors call drunken random thoughts that will surely make you chuckle. Rich or poor and beautiful or ugly, there is something for everyone.

One of the topics that caught my eye in the book is, "You are what you eat." "Our food is our life support. If all you eat is dead stuff, then whether you like it or not, you’re the walking dead." This is what I enjoyed about the book: the authors are very blunt and straightforward in their opinions—having said that it can backfire sometimes.

For instance, some of his opinions may offend the reader. For example: "Church is a place where the religious go to worship their gods, but what it really is, is a social club for the miserable." Religious readers will have a different opinion for obvious reasons. The book provides practical insights about life, often striking hard directly at the reader. "You can say you’re never going to smoke, but if your mom smoked, at some point you’ll pick up a cancer stick." Well, I don't agree with everything that is said in the book.

I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars, as even if someone says he was drunk while writing everything in this book, it's inappropriate to disrespect anyone's religion. I have deducted one star for the excessive use of foul language and another for how the opinions were put across. Everyone can have different views about various aspects of life; however, insulting someone just to prove your point, is not a great start to a healthy discussion. The book was exceptionally edited and I did not find any errors.

Drunk Talk is not suitable for young readers. I recommend this book to adults who like to know some facts or opinions and don't mind the harsh language. If you are okay with being humiliated and listening to the author's opinions with a vocabulary filled with profanity, go ahead and read it. I think this book would have been a much better read without the profanity and if it had been presented better.

what a thoughtful review as there is a thin line between being disrespectful and being blunt. I like the fact that the book contains some beautiful quotes but as the reviewer said it is not so healthy to insult someone just to prove a point.
