Anybody who has read the Bible, and probably most people who haven’t, knows that Noah’s Ark came to rest on Mount Ararat. Has the Ark been destroyed or moved by a natural phenomenon like melting ice, or is it still somewhere on the mountain? “The Keys of Noah” by Robert Michael Frost tells an intriguing tale of the search for the Ark and the wondrous keys Noah purportedly left on it.

Justis Burwell impulsively stops at an invitation-only estate sale on his way home from a doctor’s appointment. He manages to obtain entry to the sale and buys a beautiful, old travel chest without a key. After some thought and investigation, he discovers the key to the chest and figures out how to open it. Jessica, his wife, is as fascinated as Justis with the contents.

Jessica’s friend, Maggie, is a reporter assigned to investigate the deaths of the Lieberwitz couple, first thought to have died in a car accident. She becomes terrified when two unknown men gain access to the building where she works and threaten her to drop her investigation. The estate sale that Justis attended dealt with the Lieberwitz couple’s assets. Maggie joins forces with Justis and Jessica to uncover the secrets in the chest while she hides from the threatening men at their house.

The story unfolds during three significant timelines. Firstly, we join Noah on the Ark, where his son Shem gifts his father an indestructible chest to keep the family treasures safe until after the flood. Secondly, we meet some prospectors who uncover a vein containing “special” gold in 1887. People became ill and even died when being exposed to the gold for an extended period. Finally, we follow Justis, Jessica and Maggie in their quest to unravel the secret of Noah’s keys. What is the connection between Noah and the prospectors, and how does the Lieberwitz couple fit into the story? Who are the two threatening men? Prepare for action, adventure, intrigue and mystery while Justis and the two ladies embark on their dangerous quest.

I loved how the author systematically revealed information as the story progressed. From beginning to end, there was always another twist or turn to navigate. Amidst all the adventure, we also experience friendship, honesty, loyalty and love. It was refreshing to read about heroes who were not the typical young, strong and invincible characters so often depicted in action novels. The author explains technical concepts, geographical features and technology in easily understandable language. I’m sure significant research was required to lend authenticity to the story.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the book. I discovered some errors, but, in my view, the book was professionally edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It’s an innovative, unusual story that will appeal to readers who enjoy intrigue and suspense.

Although the book is about an event described in the Bible, I don’t believe that atheists or non-Christians will find anything offensive about it.

The story of Noah's ark is an intriguing one but then the story of that keys of Noah is nothing short of expectional. I wonder how Justis Burwell was able to find the keys. I also wonder how all the 3 timelines fit.

Although I did not find a translated version of this book or rather this exciting story, I always long for mysteries, adventures and secrets, and this book combines them all:
We find in this book the religious, historical, scientific and even cultural aspects, and we also find the aspect of stories and adventures.
In fact, the writer was able to mix many things here without one affecting the other.
The events here are sequential and continuous, and each event is more exciting than the other, and we always discover new things. This book takes us back to the beginning of pure humanity, then suddenly reminds us of the cunning that humanity has reached now. It tells us how humanity used to preserve things and how humanity has become indifferent to anything but money. How did we start and where have we become !
Frankly, you will dive into the depths and go far, especially if you read at night in silence and dim light. I wish that a series or a big movie was produced for this book so that the enjoyment would be greater because the combination of visual and intellectual suspense would be great.
