"The Indian and me" by Cathy DesRosiers sounds like a combination of both history and romance.Their love story seems to go against the American Revolution. But all the same,I am impressed by the author.

Choosing between your culture and community and your soulmate must be very hard. I love historical fiction and books about intermingling cultures. Few things are more enriching than openly learning from a completely different worldview. Thank you for your review.

"The Indian and Me" masterfully intertwines Revolutionary history with a forbidden love story. Julia's resilience and Ki's internal struggle between love and loyalty make this a compelling and emotionally engaging read. Congrats on being BOTD!

I enjoyed this review as much as I enjoyed the pages that I sampled. This reviewer has done a great job of teasing the plot in a way that makes me want to hurry and get back to the book, and I am not usually drawn to historical fiction or love stories for that matter. But this story is one of love and loss. Thank you for your review.

I am also an Indian, but it is funny that I am the wrong kind of Indian. Anyways, the mixing of cultures is always beautiful, and I believe this story will be beautiful, too. Congratulations on the BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

This book really opened my eyes to identity and belonging and how much complexities that comes with not only your self but within yourself, specifically for people of mixed heritage. I knew how the main character felt.

I would also expect that John had someone whom he truly loved since he married Julia because of her family's wealth. It's a familiar storyline for me having read lots of historical romance and I expect also that Ki finds a way to merge both the responsibility to his clan and the love of Julia in one solution...thereby sacrificing neither. I will read the book still to see if the storyline is as familiar as I guessed. Congrats on BOTD

This novel set during the American Revolution presents a romance story and shows important battles of that historical period. Julia seems like a fascinating character who fights against adversity. I hope Ki and Julia's love succeeds.

The book appears to explore the complexity of cultural encounters. It skillfully juxtaposed interracial romance and the American Revolution to look at nuances of cultural encounters in various contexts.

The Indian and Me by Cathy DesRosiers Peebles sounds like a captivating blend of romance and historical insight. With the author’s background in teaching the American Revolution, it's sure to bring authenticity to the time period and a rich portrayal of the characters. A must-read for historical fiction fans who enjoy well-researched stories and complex relationships.
