My dad is a pastor, and we moved around a lot when I was much younger. Whenever my dad was transferred to a new church, we were always excited about meeting new people and embarking on new adventures. This book reminds me of those days.

Even though at the moment I have no use for children's literature, I really like how the reviewer describes this book, outlining not only the usual points from an entertaining stand of view like the plot and illustrations, but is more focused on the educational value it brings. I will shelve this book for future reference and congratulate the author on BOTD!

The book is fun, Interesting, engaging, and will pique children's interest in exploring the outdoors. The protagonist is Adele, a fun-loving child who moves to a new house with a crumbling garden. The outdoor exploration leads her to discover magic and befriend mystical creatures. The garden's restoration opens a new chapter in Adele's life.

When it comes to well-written children's books, it all comes down to creativity, attractiveness, and the valuable lessons the book has to offer. Polly Richards has all of these elements in the bag, making it one of the best books for kids, especially in teaching them about caring for the environment and gardening. The protagonist is even named after the author’s daughter, which is really cute. The book is both magical and realistic, and having read this book, it hugely deserves today's BOTD.

Adele’s journey of reviving the neglected garden is a wonderful metaphor for resilience and learning, while the inclusion of characters like Squiggle and Lulu adds depth and charm to the narrative. It’s commendable how the book integrates lessons about nature and personal growth in such an accessible way for young readers. Nice review.
