Faults by Orion Gregory is a fast-paced mystery thriller set against the backdrop of a prestigious tennis tournament. This classic mystery keeps readers guessing until the very end. The protagonist, Sydney Livingstone, is a professional tennis player struggling in her career. She competes in the Mainspring Mutual Open tournament, which is highly regarded and considered equivalent to a Grand Slam event, to improve her financial situation and elevate her career. Due to health concerns, she has limited time to establish her legacy, adding even more pressure to her situation. The story begins with the suicide of Milena Lombardi, a tennis player and friend of Sydney Livingstone. It then fast-forwards to the present in Silverhill, where the MMO tournament is being held. This is where all the chaos ensues and strange events start to happen around Sydney. What begins as harmless stalking quickly escalates into a dangerous situation, with Sydney being threatened perilously by a mysterious individual. It seems that someone from her past, who has a twisted mind, has unfinished business with her. In this hair-raising scenario, she suspects everybody. Her mind is thrown into turmoil, and yet she must focus on playing her best in the tournament, as winning is crucial for her financially and could earn her a spot in the US Open. Although she came to the tournament to secure a victory, she now finds herself struggling to preserve her life. Who will win in this cat-and-mouse chase—the stalker or Sydney? The book cover intrigued me with its depiction of a tennis ball with droplets of blood. It perfectly captures the essence of the story—a mystery novel set against a tennis backdrop. The plot revolves around a tennis tournament and features many intense matches. Although I'm not very familiar with tennis, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the games and even picked up a few tennis terms along the way. Some matches were so tense that I felt as if I were on the court. The book blurb promises a fast-paced, twisted mystery, and as a fan of thrillers, I was not disappointed. Numerous nail-biting moments made me feel like watching a suspenseful movie. I was completely engrossed in the story, eager to know who the mysterious stalker was.

I appreciated the author's elegant writing style; it was easy to read. The story maintained a steady pace, and I didn't feel bored at any point. Although there were many profane words, they didn't bother me. The book featured numerous characters; all of them were well-developed, and the author skillfully weaved a mystery around them, leading me to suspect most of them at some point throughout the story. The ending was satisfying, as all the loose ends were neatly tied up. I strongly felt that it would be wonderful to watch a movie adapted from this book.

I noticed a few errors while reading, but that didn't deter my reading experience. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and didn't dislike anything. I highly recommend this book to mystery and thriller lovers. For tennis fans, it will be an added bonus. I would like to rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.

Priya, you reviewed a gem of a book. It was elegantly-written, had well-developed characters, and was filled with suspense. The backdrop of high-level women's tennis is interesting to me as a sports fan. I will enjoy this entertaining book. Thanks for the great review!

This one sounds interesting! I agree that the cover is intriguing. It took me a moment to figure out what I was looking at, but it does create a sense of suspense and interest.

Thankyou for the detailed review. I love crime thrillers and tennis, so this book seems to be a treat! It's a unique backdrop for a plot, which I've never heard or read before. Looking forward to reading this book.
