I used to feel really guilty if I didn't finish a book...but now I'm okay with it. If I find myself staring off at another book I really want to read I usually set it down, accept defeat, and pick up the other book.

Not really, I can quit a book if it doesn’t catch my attention or isn’t quite what I was hoping for. However, sometimes, I wonder what’s next and if I had missed something great.

I always have and i always will feel guilty when I do not finish a book. That s why it never happened so far. I might stop reading a book because I dont like it but then after some time I will grab it again and still finish it ;)

Usually I finish my books, even if they are bad. Sometimes it might take a while to finish one because I tend to read more books at once.

Yes, no matter what book. It completes the train of thought in my head.

Ugh, I absolutely have to finish every single book that I start. Which is probably why Ulysses has been sitting on my desk for like two years...

I don't feel guilty if it's so bad I can't finish it. I'll have a look ahead to see if it gets better and if not there's no problem in abandoning it. I reread Ulysses last year (after about 30 years) and it was completely different to how I remembered it.

I don't feel guilty if I don't finish reading a book... any more. If the book is so poorly written that it will taint my view of the author I'll stop reading it. I don't want to get to the point where I judge all books by a particular writer by my dislike of one of their works.

I don't feel guilty at all. I read for pleasure and want it to be a fun experience. Sometimes I don't like the writing, or I may find language or other things continuing to be offensive and then I close it up and don't look back.

Not at all. I'm involved with 2 research teams on top of my full time job, so time is a valuable commodity to me. I'm not going to waste the little leisure time I have on forcing myself to read something I'm not interested in.

I usually have a hard time not finishing a book, but if it is something I can truly not stand after reading 3/4ths of the book, I let it go. Some books no matter how much other people enjoyed them never appealed to me, but I'll try reading it again after a year or more.

A little bit that's why I always finish the books I start. I don't like having them hanging over my head because I didn't finish them
