Are you a quiet person? Are most writers quiet?

Other times however I am not quiet at all. My girlfriend & I are always laughing and chatting (we live together) and we go out with friends and have a lively time.
Writing is work. I'm now retired but when I was working as an engineering consultant to offshore oil exploration and production firms, I was quiet at my work too. When you're juggling deepwater engineering design specs and creating a process control system outline, you're not gonna be dancing and shouting as you pore over parametric functions, right?

I think that's probably a great quality for a writer - children should have a huge amount of inquisitiveness, but also the ability to concentrate for hours building sandcastles. And wiggling their toes in the seawater.Tracey Neal wrote: That is great! "child-like" works for me! I'm always bubbling over..I'm like a overly zealous tea pot!I swear I go around with this silly grin on my face everywhere!
More people should go through life with silly grins. I occasionally burst out laughing for very little reason, myself.Usually it's remembering something funny from the day before and just dropping back 'into the moment.'

I'll tell you something that I find quite ironic. I am an author and I'm here on this forum and I feel like a lost toddler. You all see so opinionated on books and authors; while I on the other hand do not do all that mush reading. I almost feel as if I am giving a speech. Of course I am quite unprepared for it and I am beginning to lose my train of thought and beginning to ramble. So, I think it best at this time if I simply fall back to my old friend silence an shut up now. Peace out.
