ORDINARY LOVE

September has arrived
August is gone
seasons can change
so can emotions

I don't get to choose
people don't see it
but I don't
everything is prescripted
set in stone

I act chill, rebel a lot
no one notices the demons
that I always fought
Isn't it pathetic?
but here I am
nonetheless

they say love heals all
well, I don't believe it
'cause if so
why all are so broken?
Why do their stars fall?

yet against all of those
me and myselves
I dream of a love that will make me cry
not out of sorrow but out of fear
that it not be my reality tomorrow

I don't want to be
heard, seen, and then forgotten
as if it's no big deal
I wish to be
understood, assured, and then
loved to be made sure I know
how that feels

I heard my name was written
in the stars beside yours
even before the sky was
introduced to the oceans
so does that mean you'll love me
not because have to
but because you want to, you need to
like I'm an urge you just can't help

if that's the case then
meet me halfway
where the sun lies down
in the heart of the bay
do not get scared, please
'cause even if we're not meant to be
even if it's not time
my hearts already yours
so just intertwine

I don't need loud gifts and empty promises
just give me your heart and keep mine
like it matters
I don't need shiny things
just marry me with paper rings

make me believe it's worth loving
so that I love you
like it's our favorite music on cue
easy thoughts make pretty drafts
maybe that's how love crafts
the stars that guard the moon
like it's their favorite tune
forever and ever
no matter what
