Will has a secret he hardly shares with anyone; he has conversations with God. wills religious curiosity made him explore freedom of religion and life in a wild manner. despite all that he desired to maintain a relationship with God. excellent review.

Coming of age can be an adventure. Throwing in the conversation with God, we meet William Tillit, who leaves home to make his own way in the world. He takes a job at the Galilee Theme Park in west Texas. During these times Will realize that perhaps his faith is not about the destination, but all about the journey. This coming of age is humorous and there is something he learns from everyone. It will teach the readers acceptance and how to truly listen. Pure joy through Will's eyes. Enjoying him and his journey was captivating. Actually want more and more :techie-studyingbrown:

The Freedom of Will by Ken Clatterbaugh is a Fiction book about William James Tillit, an abandoned child from East Texas raised by his devout evangelical loving aunt and uncle, falling in and out of faith. His journey taught him how he came to be who we are through the influence of those around us. Great Read for Satire Fiction.

Coming of age often implies questioning our most ingrained beliefs, such as religion. I love a diverse and whimsical cast of characters, and I'm always up for a witty and sarcastic God. Thank you for your review.

This comprehensive review of "The Freedom of Will" by Ken Clatterbaugh has enticed me to read this book. The description of the colorful cast of characters and the glimpses into the humorous aspects, such as God contemplating becoming an atheist while listening to a prosperity gospel sermon in a mega church, sounds entertaining. Your description of the author being an intelligent and fascinating storyteller also helped me to decide this would be a worthwhile read for me.

The book sounds interesting. Will had quite an adventure with a kidnapping, a bank robbery, a con artist, a beautiful woman he fell for and many other people that changed his life and his views. But I'm not a very religious person, so the discussions about religion will be a huge deterrent for me. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

The Freedom of Will is an absurdly comic coming-of-age tale about falling in and out of faith and how we come to be who we are through the influence of those around us. Great Book will highly recommend it to others.

This book presents a creative story that raises thought-provoking perspectives on religion and belief through clever arguments. It also adds humor and has excellent editing. Will's adventures sound interesting especially regarding his self-discovery in the religious aspect.

Will Tillit, 19, has no idea that he is about to set off on a once-in-a-lifetime trip as he leaves home for the first time to work at the Bible-themed Galilee Theme Park in west Texas. Will was raised by his devoted aunt and uncle, who are pious evangelical siblings, after his mother abandoned him as a newborn. Will talks to God, which is a secret he rarely discusses with others. Will's diet, though, sounds very different from his guardians'. Will's god is perceptive, a little caustic, and a little angry.
Will's passage to west Texas is far from a smooth trip. After saving a three-legged and possibly atheistic hamster he names Ham, Will encounters a tornado-riding woman he falls for almost instantly. He is further sidelined by a con artist "Reverend," kidnapped by a greedy dominionist, and helps to foil a bank robbery. Will finds his faith influenced by the colorful cast of characters he meets on his journey, from lesbian nuns committed to social justice to likable convicted felons. Amid this life-changing adventure, Will’s faith is challenged as he leaves the familiar behind to embrace the truth about who he is.
