Since I’ve started reviewing, I try and pick books I would enjoy reading just for pleasure. Having to pay attention for grammatical errors and typos does not really take away from the enjoyment of the book, but it does decrease the speed at which I usually read when it is just for pleasure. Beside the book I am reading for review purposes I usually have an audiobook that I listen to when I am working around the house or driving in the car. So yes, I still read just for pleasure.Stephen Christopher 1 wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 23:45 Prior to joining OnlineBookClub, I read purely for enjoyment. Now that I've joined, I mostly read every book with the view of reviewing it at some point.
But every now and again, I read a book purely for my own interest. I find that I pay less attention to grammar or spelling errors and either enjoy the book or not, purely as a reader.
How about others? Do you do the same?

Aren't audiobooks a great way to multi-task? Less grammatical errors too. That's a great way to read for pleasure and get paid for it.Diane C Johnson wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 14:53 Since I’ve started reviewing, I try and pick books I would enjoy reading just for pleasure.
