Which do you read faster - an e-book or paperback?

I honestly prefer paperback books. There's something about the feel of the pages and the smell of a book that I love. You don't get that with an e-book. Still, as far as reading them I read both equally quickly.

i read e-book faster because i can read it almost anywhere i go and anytime i have a spare time, i read most of ebook on my android phone which i carry, so when i wait for someone or something i can read my favourite ebook, and sometimes i also listen audio book on my phone. not to add ebook are ussually a lot cheaper than real books.

I actually read E-books faster cuz i cant read a paperback in the dark so yeah but still prefer reading paperbacks so i can have the actual thing in my hands

I prefer real books, but I find I will finish an e-book in a shorter span of time.

I think my pace of reading is about equal between e-readers and paperbacks. However, I have more access to my book on e-readers I.e. phone, kindle, and iPad so I finish the book faster by reading it that way

I love being able to carry more than one book around with me on an e-book, but after a while my eyes being to get dry and itchy, so it ends up taking me longer because I have to take breaks.

For me, nothing can beat holding a paperback and the satisfaction of physically closing the book when you are done.

I read fast with paperbacks. I prefer books to ebooks. I love turning the pages and the smell of a real book. I do like the convenience of ebooks for travel.

I think I read e-books on my kindle paperwhite faster. Some books don't give a page count and the percentage meter is small so I don't feel like I'm always looking to see how many pages are left. Plus turning the page is a lot faster. I used to be completely against e-readers. I loved the feel of a paperback & still do but I love reading on my ereader now. I can borrow library books without having to go to the library. It's also a lot more compact so I can take it anywhere

It really depends on the book itself. Sometimes, I can read an ebook pretty fast. Other times, I can read paperback faster. I like paperback and/or hardcover better than an ebook, so most of the time it is the actual book itself that I hold in my hands. I don't really read an ebook unless I don't feel like driving into town to get the book. Which, is pretty lazy of me.

A paperback... I can take it down to the beach or river or pick it up when I'm stuck in traffic and I don't have to charge it to finish reading it. I downloaded Tess of the D'urbavilles and took it on holiday with me and I was completely hooked on the story, but I couldnt take my laptop fishing with us. I managed to find a bit of signal and download it to my phone, but after a chapter my phone died. Oh, the agony. To sit doing nothing, waiting for invisible fish to bite and not have a good paperback on your lap.
