It's my first time hearing "resuscitation". I believe Sydney's story is as intriguing as mentioned in the review. Thanks for a free copy!

Your review does a great job of highlighting both the strengths and weaknesses of The Conflagration. I found it particularly interesting how the book explores values, compassion, and ethics in a post-apocalyptic world. Sydney's struggle to adjust after being cryonically preserved for 300 years sounds like a fascinating character journey, and I appreciate your insight into her slow-burn development. The discussion of intellectual topics seems like a thought-provoking aspect of the book, though I can see how it might be challenging for some readers to follow. Your mention of the minor editing issues, such as name inconsistencies and grammatical errors, is helpful for setting expectations. Overall, your review makes me curious to check out this book, especially for its deep themes and unique premise.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. I felt sorry for Sydney, a cryonically preserved woman. She asks if protestors had kidnapped her. How can she cope in a new world 300 years in the future? Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

"The Conflagration" by B. Sabonis-Chafee is a sci-fi highlighting post-apocalyptic with interesting plot and perspectives. The book explores the themes of values, compassion, and ethics through the lives of the 'ice-woman' and her team who tirelessly worked to acclimatize her to the current world. Find out how Sydney coped after being revived from 3 centuries back.

I imagine that being thrust forward in time would be very bewildering and challenging. I am interested in seeing how Sydney makes this adjustment and am glad to know that others tried to facilitate this transition.

'Holding in memory the mistakes of the 21st century, they draw forth a more value-based, compassionate, and ethical system with a vehement distaste and suffocation of a repeat situation.'
What changes would these people make to avoid the mistakes of today?

I appreciate the minute details you chose to pay attention to and share in your review. The review is set up in a way that pulls the reader in, and whether or not the author wrote a (subjectively) good book, they would be pleased to have a reader willing to read and post a review that piques the interest of several random strangers on the internet. I look forward to reading the book, it seems right up my alley for genres and storylines.

It is a great thing. The Conflagration by B. Sabonis-Chafee is a science fiction book because our experiment is starting to get out of hand. Congratulations on BOTD.

The story sounds intriguing, a woman from 300 yrs prior, being brought back to life and trying to deal with the changes and everyone trying to correct the wrongs of the world that brought about humans destruction. It would be interesting on what one could possibly do to change the entire world so they could work together with out hate and greed and trying to have all the power over everyone.

The Conflagration by B. Sabonis-Chafee is a post-apocalyptic novel about Sydney Thrasher, who wakes up 300 years after a nuclear war. She navigates a future society that has sworn off war, trying to find her place in this new world.

Great for fans of speculative fiction! 📚✨
