Which do you read faster - an e-book or paperback?

I've only just gotten into ebooks, but I do think that paperback books make it easier to read in terms of length. I'm physically able to see how much left I have to read, whereas ebooks list off page numbers and sometimes you get lost on where you were. So maybe knowing exactly how much you have to read makes it to where you want to read more? Ebooks seem to take longer to read, even if they have the same number of pages.

For some reason, I seem to read better on paper. I feel like turning the page and feeling how many pages are left is more motivating, somehow. On e-reader, I find that I sometimes have to read back because I skimmed (perhaps a bad habit of skimming social media ;P).

I did not notice any difference in my reading speed or pace using the e-reader or a real book. I am comfortable with an e-reader as well a hardcopy of the novel.
