Would you read a book if somebody random said it was good?

I have done once or twice. I think if someone is really enthusiastic about a book then that is a good thing, and if it's the type of genre I like then I will give it a go. Looking at the other side of the coin I have been recommended books by friends/acquaintance/review and found some of them a let down.

Definitely. Some of the best books I've read I've been skeptical about or picked up on a whim. I of course make sure it's a kind of book I'm interested in, but if so, chances are it'll end up on my reading list. After all, isn't that what we all do when we take reading recommendations from this forum?

Of course! If it was good enough to go up to a random person and strike up a conversation about it, it's good enough to read.

I haven't really talked about books with random people, however, I read books all the time recommended by people I don't know on Amazon and Goodreads. I think it's pretty similar and it depends on what's said and what the plot of the story is.

I have. A person who trained me at work for a week told me about "The Bloody Jack Adventures." I had no interest in reading a book that, I assumed, was about "pirates." I purchased the first book in the series, and continually dismissed the urge to read it, believing that it would be a horrible book. I was wrong. I finished the book in two days. I would have completed it in one sitting, had I not been packing for a long distance move. Historical fiction, action, drama, and comedy are all woven in the coming-of-age story about a girl who becomes a ship boy. Now, when someone recommends a book, I always give it a chance.

Depends what else they told me about it/ the genre. If it was a book that I would otherwise assumed I would not like, I would probably attribute their recommendation to having different taste to me. If it seemed like my cup of tea anyway, then definitely.

If I'm on the fence about a book I always read reviews then make my decision. I enjoy get recommendations on books. I've been introduced to authors I otherwise may not have discovered so yes I would!

it depends. if it fits my readings or if i want to try something else i may read it. but if i think it's not a book that i would read, i won't.
I remember once i met a women on a train trip, and suggested me to read the book "Living, Loving, Learning" by Leo Buscaglia. I haven't read it yet because i'm not in self-help/inspirational books

Yes I would make a note of the book title and look for it the next time I visit a library.I prefer recommended books first to doing my own research on what new to read.

I love to read and I am always searching for my next great book. With that being said, yes I would. If the book is in the genre that I read, then I will most certainly read it. I often times find my next book to read from Goodreads and that is reading books that random people have said are good.

It depends on the person that recommended it to me. if we share the same taste in Genre ,creative plots and strong deep love storys, then yes absolutely.I would read what they recommend and give them a shot.
