It will be interesting to see the strategies and outcomes of “Operation Louveterie” used to take care of Hitler. Thank you for your review.

I liked how the author used the first few chapters to introduce key characters early in the story before the action kicked in. The author showed their backstories and what unique nature they would bring into the story. That way, I could connect with the characters and their proclivities. For instance, Weinman had a weakness for women. If you ever suspected someone was flirting with a lady in the story, that would most likely be Weinman. This was his response to Al’s request to go to Washington: “Al, my dear friend, you should know better by now. I’m not going to Washington for the politics. I’m going for the prostitutes.” There were other unpredictable characters, like Hans Von Fischer. His role was such that you’d find it hard to figure out where his allegiance was.
That's actually kind of funny. I'm a history buff like you, and I'm especially interested in WWII, and it's, for obvious reasons, hard to find books about this topic that incorporate even a bit of humor.
Thank you for your great review!

I have not read much about president Truman and his role in Hitler's death, but this fictional account would be a great place to start from. I shall add this to my TBR shelf.

Although I've read many books dealing with World War II, I haven't yet read any that deal with President Truman’s strategy for dealing with the Adolf Hitler problem and the Nazis. The formation of a secret agency and what they will be tasked to do sound fascinating. I appreciate that real events were leveraged to make the story more realistic. Thank you for your informative review.

The description quickly won me over and made me curious just how Truman's actions will be seen in accordance to Hitler's existence and influence! It certainly feels like "The Last Rival" will feature a unique perspective of American politics and Truman's presidency. Can't wait to start reading it!
