Christopher Leibig's "Almost Mortal" plunges criminal defense attorney Sam Young into a perilous off-the-books investigation of the "Rosslyn Ripper" case, initiated by a confession to a priest bound by privilege. As Sam delves into the killer's journal, the chilling parallels he discovers between himself and the suspect drive a suspenseful narrative that questions the nature of morality and justice.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. Sam Young, a criminal defense attorney, is asked to help an elderly priest and a young nun, who have information about a serial murderer. There is a mysterious journal found that gives some clues. Can they find the killer before there is another murder?

A crime story that revolves around Samson "Sam" Young, a criminal defense attorney, "Almost Mortal" by Christopher Leibig ran parallel with an inner story within Sam's story. Was Sam successful in solving the Rosslyn Ripper case?
Clearly, a book I'd love because of its mysterious feel.

No matter what, crime thrillers are my ultimate favorite. From the review I can understand that this book is written like two different stories that are related which is interesting as we don't usually see this kind of pattern in crime thrillers where the attorney is relating to the killer. Very intriguing.

This book was very interesting, but I thought it was very confusing as well. I do understand that it’s two different stories of two different people, but it’s confusing to me how it jumps back-and-forth and I don’t know who is being talked about, but it’s good that everything and it’s very unpredictable.

I am curious to read the book and find out more about the questions raised regarding faith and God. The fact that these questions make the book thought-provoking definitely make this an enthralling novel and I cannot wait to see who the serial killer.
Many thanks for the review, @Okafor Prosper.

"Almost Mortal" by Christopher Leibig is a gripping crime/mystery novel that expertly weaves together two intriguing storylines, with a relatable protagonist and thought-provoking themes. While it falls short on suspense and the ending, the book's engaging plot and well-developed main character make it a compelling read for fans of the genre.
The difference between taking and giving, and taking and not giving is the difference between life and death.

I love a review that sparks the interest to read it and this one definitely does. What caught my attention was the main character is a lawyer and the book is told with two intertwined stories from clearly two different characters. Excellent critique!!!

The story of Sam a defense attorney and the tales around Rosslyn Ripper a serial killer coming together to create an unforgettable experience for readers. I hope the mystery part doesn't have to do with fate bringing Sam and Rosslyn together.

The review shows that this is an interesting story. Am anxious to grab this book and start following up on this story of Sam and Rosslyn Ripper. One with murder narratives, makes more interested to explore how it ended up as.

'The Rosslyn Ripper was a serial killer on the loose who had been involved with 3 murders. Someone confessed to Father Andrada at the church about being the Rosslyn Ripper.'
I like reading murder thrillers.
