'Racing The Wild' is a poignant and riveting tale of a teen boy who struggles to find acceptance in the world amidst a harsh and abusive environment at home. His strong will and desire to stand by his beliefs are impressive quality in a young person. I am eager to enjoy my read. Thanks for a beautiful review!

It's great that the book is set against the backdrop of Australia's lush setting. However, I'm not sure I'm very intrigued by Chris' story in Racing the Wild” by Rosanna Andrea Feeken. I'll probably skip this one.

I like books that are like a breathe of fresh air. We see Chris complicated life and environment which he struggles in but it doesn’t stop him from being that source of good. You can certainly learn a lot from Chris. Congratulations on being BOTD.

“Racing the Wild: A Journey of Freedom and Friendship” by Rosanna Andrea Feeken is a young adult novel that captures the resilience and determination of a teenage boy named Chris. The story takes place in the Australian bushland where Chris lives with his father and his two older twin brothers. Chris started at a new school where he easily made new friends but when he goes home, he is bullied by his older brothers. His dad is a well-known successful racehorse trainer who makes the boys work for him by mucking out stables, feeding and exercising horses under the iron rule of their abusive father. Easy to see where the bullying comes from. School must seem like a reward to Chris to be away from his father and brothers. Chris endures the abuse but it has to be wearing him down. Chris has artistic talents and he has a passion for sketching, an act that provides him with therapeutic escape from the tensions and abuse he faces every day. His sketches are a lifeline for Chris and he uses them to process his emotions and find comfort and relief. Chris does not hesitate to fight for what he believes is right and this gets him into trouble at school and home. Chris has been training a horse that he truly cares about and has come under threat from his father. Faced with the potential loss of this horse he makes a decision to take a dangerous journey through the Australian bushland driven by a fierce sense of justice. The bushland is vast and dangerous especially for a teenager to cross without other riders. He wants to save the horse so he is willing to risk everything and he takes off through the untamed bushland on an unpredictable path to find freedom for himself and the horse he loves. His determination will have repercussions at home but he is doing what he has to do. One will need to read the book to learn the outcome of his journey and how he is able to stand up to the abuse he suffers at home. Chris makes friends easily so hopefully this ability will aid him in his journey. Being a high school teenager, he will need to get the authorities involved because of the abuse at home. I look forward to reading this book since being a parent, grandparent and great grandparent it is important to recognize the abuse Chris is suffering since other young people are also enduring similar issues and I want to learn how Chris works things out. This book deserves the 5 out of 5-star rating.

At a young age, Chris is already exposed to the challenges of life. I'm left wondering whether these challenges will make or mar him. Thankfully, I have the book to find out.

Chris must have been a very strong character, but what I don’t understand is how working with his own family would do such a thing to him. Bullying shouldn’t be tolerated and I love that the author used this book to pass out a message of a vice that many children are suffering from.

The story of a teenage boy named Chris who struggled through familial abuse, but with a determination to fight for what he believes is right despite the obstacles/opposition.
"Racing the Wild" by Rosanna Andrea Feeken combines adventure, emotional depth, and the stark realities of life under abuse to teach us about hope, friendship and freedom. I love what I read about this book, and I'm sure to add it to my "to read" collections.

I always thought that rural life is hard, full of daily labor, and I believe even more so at a renowned racehorse than at a farm. Adding to it abuse from the family members, who are supposed to be protective and supportive most of all, sounds truly heartbreaking, and, I am sorry to say, but it makes me unwilling to delve into Chris's story. Still, congratulations on BOTD!

This is a book that is relatable to most people. The challenges they faced while growing up and how some can impact them in adulthood. It also shows how one can use their past to forge a new self who is determined and courageous.

This book sounds like an incredibly relatable tale. This will resonate and inspire so many teenagers, even adults as well. Because the topics of abuse, bullying, then having a hobby to escape those are extremely relatable factors a lot of people go through. I would love to read this book.
