"Zeru Zeru Girl" by Barbara Kerr touches on a rarely spoken topic. It is true that albinos are treated very differently from others. Congratulations on BOTD.

Great review! It is sad when parents have to give up their child to keep them safe. This sounds like a very interesting book that I will have to read.

Congrats on BOTD!
The devastating tale of "Zeru Zeru Girl" centers on a Tanzanian couple who must make an unimaginable choice in order to shield their albino daughter from terrible beliefs and brutality. A compelling book that combines fairness, giving up, and affection.

I have never read a book that deals with albinism angst. This would be my first time and the characters, like Samuel, Lily, and Annika are already making me interested to see through the end of the book!

Sometimes one would imagine the comforts they are enjoying is common and accessible to everyone, but Kerr reminds us through this book that that is not the case. I am also wondering what happened to baby Annika and cannot wait to read the book to find out more.
Many thanks for the informative review, @Eva Nyaburi.

The difficulties faced by marginalized people in Tanzania and Syria is nicely protrayed in the thought provoking fiction book "Zeru Zeru Girl" by Barbara Kerr. The fact that Tanzania, albinos were often perceived as something other than humans is surprising.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

The father's decision to send their cherished daughter away for her safety is justified. The mother's distress after the sudden change of events is equally fair. How life turns out for little Zeru Zeru (ghost people) girl assures an eye-opening read. Thanks for your comprehensive review. I have added it to my reading list.
