There is always that one law enforcement agent with a very standout performance after being riddcled for a while and for "Hands Across The Sea" by Brian Cook, it is Garrison Cottrell.

In Hands Across the Sea, Brian Cook vividly depicts the personalities that make up the Office of the Sheriff (the Agency). First, as deputies and command staffers are promoted to higher positions, the author lets us share in their happiness. Next, we travel back in time to meet an elderly man named Garrison Cottrell, the sheriff who accomplished the remarkable feat of turning the Agency—once considered "a laughing stock in the law enforcement community"—into one of the greatest in the nation.

Today's BOTD is a character-driven drama that explores the dynamics and tensions within a sheriff's office during a sudden leadership change. In addition to staying engaged from start to finish, readers will feel like they are walking alongside each character as the story unfolds before their very eyes! Thank you so much for the great review! :-)

The book sounds like an eventful read. I like multi-layered narrative where we get to witness many characters own individual stories unfolding. The only thing is the length, I personally don't read books that long. But I can definitely make an exception if the story is great.

At first I thought this book would be about a sea or ocean voyage. I was surprised to read it's all about law enforcement. I'm certainly curious about how the Sheriff transformed the agency into a respectable institution and what had previously made it a laughing stock. Thanks for the review.

This is a book of interwoven stories of sheriffs, deputies and law enforcement. One of the major story being that of Brendan Callaghan, the man who transformed The Agency. It is a big interesting book filled with dialogues and humour.

Thank you for your review. I read a few chapters of the sample. Novel about police, their interactions, and their families. Readers thinking of a career in law enforcement would like this book. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.

I was intrigued by the title, because I couldn't guess what kind of plot was hidden behind it and reading the description provided was enlightening. I really like this kind of success stories where "a laughing stock in the law enforcement community" becomes a star. It doesn't matter if it's fiction, the book is truly inspiring to do your best no matter what. Congratulations with BOTD!

Thank you for a well-written review. It seems like a good read about workplace drama and family dynamics. It is more than just a police story. But it isn't something I would pick up. I'm glad you enjoyed the book.

When I read the blurb, I wasn't sure if I would be interested in this novel, but after reading your review, now I'm very eager to dive in! I could always use a good laugh, and this book seems to be brimming with humor as well as realism. Many people criticize police officers without understanding all of the challenges they face on a daily basis. I'm sure this book will shed light on many of those issues. I appreciate the fact that this novel shares the good, the bad, the ugly, and the sordid details involving law enforcement. You also mentioned inappropriate relationships among co-workers. I am sure this happens more often than the "men in blue" would like to admit.

Thank you for your very entertaining review! 😊

'Official Review: Hands Across the Sea' by Brian Cook has a vivid expression. It describes the salient characters of the story. Author Cook brings the faces behind the Office of the Sheriff to life in his book. The book contains abundant humor. It is about a strong family and friendship bonds in a work environment filled with conspirational colleagues pushing forward their own clever agendas. I like the advice offered to potential readers in the review!

This is a great review that gets you excited about the crime/thriller "Hands Across the Sea" by Brian Cook. It gives a glimpse into the sheriff's Agency office and the works they do. It shares their ups and downs and how decisions are made. It uses humor and friendship and inner politics too. Great review and BOTD.
