I really dislike Stephan King Books. Not saying he is a bad writer or others can love him I just never have.

), seemed very badly written and from what I heard of its origins, it is overhyped fanfiction. Otherwise I think there's few authors I hate - More likely I'd hate their work but that's quite rare too

While I don't hate it, I severely dislike Stephanie Meyer's Twilight. I read the entire first book while in grade 12 and I just couldn't believe the writing. The fact that it got insanely popular made me see things in a different light...

I don't have any I particularily hate. If I didn't like a book to begin with it is doubtful I would pick up anything else by them in order to determine whether or not I "hated" them.

That's a really good point actually - if you don't like an author why would you read enough of them to hate them?

I don't really HATE authors, but some are hard to read for me. Like Stephen King and dean koontz

I can't think of any author that I have a particular hate for, but I must say that once an author gets a huge following or fan club, I tend to go off them.

I don't know why but I don't like to read a book after half the world has been raving on about how great it is.

While I do not hate him, I did not like read John Steinbeck's novels in my English classes. I have read three and didn't like any of them. But then again I disliked a lot of books wee were to read in class that my classmates loved, lol!

I bought one of her books. spent 7 bucks.

And after 22 pages...Not only did I stop reading it..but remaind angry at her for the next couple of days..of how f*Cking CLICHè..how BANAL of a writer she is.
I figure "Damn, anybody could become a writer"

LEE CHILD..I don't hate his books per se.

But I've never finished one.
Started them..went half way..and got bored.

STEPHEN KING.
At first as a teen, I liked him, cause I didn't read much.
When I started reading all sorts of books..and I re-read KING. I felt gipted.
FRANKLY: HE IS BOOOOORRING..

Yes, that includes you "THE SHINNING"..Boring....

IT was good...EVEN IT WASN't cut with LONG BORING SLOW PARTS.

He's too self absorbed. He doesn't make things thight for the reader.

He sells for his NAME alone. VIRGIN's of the BOOK WORLD, might like him, because he's simple and down to earth. Therefore you feel less stupid and you feel like you're a REAL reader.

But once you see what's out there. You realized his plots move at the pace of PAINT drying on the wall.
That's who.

So, I hope this won't be the MOST controversial post of this year, but I'm really NOT a lover of Franz Kafka. I read all of his most famous short stories and his novella, "The Metamorphosis," which was... well... What the hey??? I'm sorry, but I thought his fiction was about as good as amateur in many parts. Then again, he admitted, himself, that he made every effort to hit fame on a poor hand. As they say, art is subjective, but I sometimes wonder if that's just to point out that quite literally ANYBODY can become a literary legend... I guess that's reassuring for us amateurs, though. Yes... Let's look at the positive!

For me, it's Tom Clancy. Ugh. Now he could write a good story (I have read quite a few of his books), but every character's stomach contained an "icy ball", and he wrote about sex as if he were a 13-year-old virgin who learned everything he knew from a 14-year-old cousin.

I cannot stand Stephenie Meyer. Yes, the quality of her writing is bad, and the plotline of her books is weak at best. However, I think the allegedly romantic stories she tells are often harmful for others - especially young girls- to read and ingest. She has effectively told a generation that stalking, possessiveness, and insecurity are the ultimate romantic qualities.
