Re: Review of Pastor B and the Haunted Church

This is the first book in a Christian series in which suspense will be present throughout. The story revolves around an old church and a fund created by someone we don't yet know, with the purpose of renovating the church and the area in question. The twist is that the church burned down a long time ago, and from there, many chilling things begin to unfold.

Pastor B, the new leader of the River Heights Church, faces a unique challenge: a haunted church. Dorothy May Mercer's "Pastor B and the Haunted Church: A Christian Mystery Suspense" ingeniously combines faith in God with ghosts, transgender issues, suicide attempts, and other unconventional topics, creating a narrative that is both suspenseful and thought-provoking. As Pastor B and his wife strive to revive the church, the blend of faith and suspense keeps the readers intrigued. I appreciate your engaging review.

I like a book with several story lines woven into one. I also like that the book touches on transgender issues and teaches leadership skills. Well done to the author.

Mystery books are the type to keep me hooked. Pastor B and the haunted church seems to have written this story in a suspenseful enjoyable flow according to the reviewer. The idea of spookiness in something does raise my curiosity and I love that this book portrays it better.

An ancient church was burned down for an underground railroad stop. It was later rebuild. In the present, a non member establishes a fund. What is the fund for? This story sounds like a package with topics like paranormal activity, embezzlement, suicide, crime.

A haunted church, spooky stories from the past, a sudden memorial fund, and a hidden connection to the Underground Railroad—so many layers in one plot. I’m really curious how it all comes together and what truths get uncovered. Congrats on BOTD!

I can't say I ever encountered Christian mystery suspense books, but I am certainly interested in this series. Haunted places, ancient grounds, renovation of old church -- all are engaging topics for me. We lose so much of our history by abandoning it to be destroyed under the influence of time; therefore, I admire Alan Burke’s dedication to reinvigorate the River Heights Church. Thanks for the gift and congrats on BOTD!

The book shows that although churches seem like peaceful places, they are also full of secrets and difficult decisions it also shows that the past is never as buried as we think.😇🫨

Although I'm uncomfortable with some of the topics in this book, I will give it a chance, as the Christian values presented will help readers learn and apply them in their own lives. Thank you for the review.

I must say that the idea of a church being haunted sounds far-fetched to me but, nonetheless, intriguing."Pastor B and the Haunted Church" by Dorothy May Mercer features the 100-year-old mansion, River Heights Church with a spooky history. Mystery and suspense blend in with with deceit, jealousy, greed, gambling, embezzlement, suicide attempt and the paranormal, all playing significant roles throughout the storyline. I know I'm not gonna miss reading this story.
