Snippets from a Twisted Mind by Sean O'Banion is an anthology of eclectic short stories, poems, songs, and musings. This is one of those rare books that will make you laugh out loud, while at the same time, urge you to reflect on society and yourself.

The first story in Snippets from a Twisted Mind is called Goober. Set in the segregated South of the 1950s, the piece sheds light on the rampant racism that was normalized at the time. The story presents a profound theme in a hilarious manner. The names of the characters in this story are truly innovative. Next, we have Sex Slave. This is a story about a man's tryst with a famous star. I like how it is written from the man's perspective. O'Banion's decision to use a common dialect in this story truly pays off. Death's Lecture follows. I have to say this is one of my favorites in this collection. Here, death is personified. He steps up on the stage of a high school auditorium and places a choice before his audience. The choice of moving forward or going back resonated with me and made me think about what I would choose if faced with the same decision. As the names suggest, Military Advice and Military Chow are all about life in the military. Drawing from his own military experience, O'Banion provides sound advice presented in a conversational manner. The story of Great Aunt Tillie's fruitcake as presented in The Travelling Fruitcake is a treasure trove of knowledge. Through this story, O'Banion takes us on a historical journey through Europe and America. Space Force and UFOs put forward some hilarious yet somehow realistic questions about intergalactic relationships if space travel truly becomes possible. Cry Havoc - And Let Rip the Mighty Wind presents the encounter between Jack Ripper and Matt Butts, two unsavory characters who like breaking wind. When they meet, chaos ensues. However, the real story is that of Mike, the proprietor of the bar where they meet, and his best friend, Al. This story will leave your jaw hanging for sure. Shotgun Willie is a highly relatable tale of a husband married to his wife for twenty years. Next comes NFL. O'Banion's names to the various state teams had me in tears.

In the next section, we get more snippets. These include poems, haikus, songs, thoughts, limericks, jokes, anecdotes, and witty one-liners. I have to say, I really enjoyed this part, especially the one-liners under Wisdom.

Sean O'Banion's Snippets from a Twisted Mind is truly a one-of-a-kind book. Written in a light-hearted conversational tone, the book broached some important issues that our society faces. O’Banion gives us some helpful advice as well.

Snippets from a Twisted Mind made me laugh and gifted me with some awesome one-liners. I truly enjoyed reading it. As I did not find any negatives in this book, I happily rate Sean O'Banion's Snippets From A Twisted Mind 5 out of 5 stars . I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is looking for a short feel-good book.

The dilemma when presented with a choice to either move forward or back to the past is interesting and I cannot wait to read and find out more. What I find more exhilarating about the book is that it addresses other important issues such as racial bigotry. Thanks for the review, @Kajori Sheryl Paul.
