I like to finish a book in one day as well but I try to relish in the story so I can get the most out of it. I feel that if I read it too quickly, I didn't do it justice. If I had time, I would read all day and finish books and be okay with it. If I wait too long or stretch it out too much, then I forget some of the story.

I don't think it's bad, it just means it was a great book and now you have extra time to read another one! The last book I finished, Tides by Betsy Cornwell, was so freaking good that I finished it within 24 hours. I just adored it. Right now, on the other hand, I'm reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. This book is taking me some time to finish, and it's not even long at all! I've been reading it for a week now and I've only just gotten past halfway. I'm just not as as hooked as I was with the last book I read, I guess.

The type of book determines the length of time it takes to read the book. I can read a cozy mystery in one day.

I do the same thing. I will get so into the book and I read fast as it is that I will have a book done in a matter of hours.

I've done that a few times before. Sometimes I get so into it that I can't put it down.

Guilty Confession: I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in a day and then re-read it the following week! Nothing is at all wrong with finishing a book in a day! It happens. Some stories just become a part of you and you cant stop reading. When it happens to me, I just go with the flow and enjoy every bit of it I can until it ends. The beauty of reading is that there is always another book, you may have just gotten to it faster.
All I need is a new book and a place to read it...

i read four books in three days because they were so damn good to me. I say ain't nothing wrong with getting caught up in a good story, living the adventure with your character for a day (as long as you get up every once in a while and ya know get some fresh air and food) ;)

Not at all. Better than spending your whole day watching TV.

I will do the same thing and then when I finish the book I am ready to read something else. It is really bad when the book is a part of a series and the next one has not come out yet.

I often do this. When I find the time I think reading a great book is an awesome way to spend a lazy day!

If the book is good and reading it doesn't keep you from doing life-dependent tasks then I say have at it! I just finished reading a book that I started 3 hours ago.

I won't say its bad but I have done it so many times and faced consequences. So don't do it unless the book is really worth it!

Just one in a day? (I'm kidding about the retort.) Yes, really, it's quite okay. Continue on--no one is stopping you, as it should be.

I'm the same, I try to read a book a day. I read the Divergent trilogy in two days.. So no, I don't think it's bad. The only necessarily bad thing about doing this is that yout social life is probably not going to be very good.

I wouldn't call it bad at all!! That's how I know a book has really grabbed my attention all around! When that happens I will have it done within a few hours or by the end of the day depending on what time I started reading and of course working around housework and such.
