Try to read every word but when the content drifts into same old same old then speed up to get to more interesting sections.

I only do this if I can't wait to find something out, but I always go back and read the parts I miss

No, but sometimes I want to. I just don't want to miss something and become lost.

Unless it's a rom-com or lighthearted funny novel, skipping pages is inevitable for me.

In a word yes. If I don't like a character I skip their bits and it is always a battle for me to not read the last page first :/

I do not skip pages in books. At least not intentionally. As a fast reader, it has happened before that I had flipped one too many pages over, But then i go back to read that skipped page. Even if I feel like I have skipped a sentence I read it again to make sure. Sometimes I find myself reading it multiple times, fearful of skipping or missing anything. There have been times that i check the length of chapters and I do admit having once or twice reading the last sentence of the book before I start, just for fun. But intentional skipping of a book? No way.

I never skip pages just maybe a couple sentences every now and then if the author is just describing a tree or something

Depends on the type of book it is. I wouldn't skip pages on a book that I'm really absorbed in reading, even when they're long and wordy like Lord of the Rings, because each word is a pleasure to savor. For some books though, if there is an issue like their plot moves too slowly (Kerry Nietz's Amish Vampires in Space), or the POV switches to a character I'm not invested in, or there are scenes which don't contribute to the plot that I'm interested in (all those sex scenes in the twelfth book of the Anita Blake series were so IRRITATING) but I still like parts of the book enough to want to finish it, then yes, I will skip with extreme prejudice.

I find myself skipping pages when i'm bored of the story, and after that i'm sort of rushing to finish it in hopes that it might finish strong.

I couldn't skip pages. I would feel like I might have missed something vital to the story. It is the process of reading the book that I enjoy as much as finding out what happens at the end. I tend to avoid reading books where I already know what happens as it takes away some of the enjoyment for me.

Just my opinion: It depends on the book... if the author wrote well and it is engaging then I'll naturally be hooked anyway. If the book is very dry and I only want to find something specific from it then yeah I skip chapters :-)

If the story is going on forever I will skip pages but then go back because i feel bad. or if the book is really bad i just stop reading and put the book down or just skip 10 to 20 pages.
