I try not to skip pages but admit that if a chapter, or part of the book, starts to lose my attention, I will skim the paragraphs. I am also very bad at skipping ahead and reading a little then going back to my actual page. I almost always spoil myself because I just can not wait to see if the couple ends up together or if the person I think killed whoever actually did.

When I am reading stories for leisure or to review I never skip pages. Sometimes, I go back an re-read something I think I may have misinterpreted or missed the first time I read it. I wouldn't want to miss something that happens in a a developing story. If I am reading a Non-Fiction book about how to do something I will skip through to the parts that I need to know especially if it is a topic that doesn't really spark my interest. If I don't like a book and I find myself skipping pages in a novel then I will just quit reading it. I don't want to waste time reading something that I don't like unless I am reviewing it for a specific reason.

Never, unless I have no intention of finishing the book. That's blasphemous to me, haha.

I can't recall ever skipping parts of books. If there's something really trashy, I don't just skip it, I stop reading. If I'm tempted to skip because I'm bored, I generally don't bother to finish the book at all.

The only time that I skip pages is if it is a book I have read before or if there is a portion of the book that seems to be lagging. You know how that is... You are reading and for some reason a scene in a book may seem to be about as exciting as watching paint dry. :P I usually peek ahead to see if there is something more exciting a few pages away.

I find myself only skipping sentences or such when I know that there will be nothing important within the text of the novel. I've never actually skipped whole chapters because then you really don't know if you will miss something important within the story.

I don't and read it from cover to cover. However, I may skip a passage or two if it is too boring or too gross.

I usually read everything, but after seeing this thread I have realized that I sometimes skip parts of a paragraph, though not intentionally. I guess I just want to skip to the action, I'm not sure why I do it.

I have the tendency to want to read a book faster than my eyes move but for me I skip chapters to see where the story's going then go back and read. I hate not knowing what's going to happen to a character I fall in love with.

Sometimes, if reading gets really tedious. For example if they're describing a window and describing that window takes 3 pages then I will skim. But that hardly happens, unless its a classic and I love classics!

No I'm afraid I'll miss something important to the story line if I skip pages.

If I find myself skipping pages, I find myself in a book I'm not enjoying so will end up giving the whole thing a miss..

I will skip paragraphs or I will skim through them but I won't skip a whole page. I will slow down and even reread a paragraph if its really good. Some authers spend a great deal of time getting the details in the story and Im not always interested in every detail. How the scenery looks or how certain characters are dressed ,doesn't always hold my attention. I may skip over these details so I can get to the main story.

no way you should read every page. maybe can skip a couple of sentences if the author is writing really long descriptions about a scene that you don't really care about. how can you understand the story if you skip the pages?
