I can read for 1 hour straight then take a ten minute break and wonder about what will happen next and start again . I pretty much stay awake all night if the novel is interesting. After finishing it I wish I wouldn't have read it so soon.

I find that reading longer than 2 hours in one sitting is difficult. I just have too many things going to take a whole day and read. I would love to have the time to do that though. I found that when I was reading the Wizard Series by Diane Duane I could get up to 4 hours of solid reading time. That series of books (there are 9 in that series) is just one that captures you and traps you in its pages until you emerge exhausted after journeying with the main characters and their ordeals.

When I am working in the various schools the normal allotted time for reading in one sitting in most classrooms is 20 minutes. Plus students are allowed to read when their work is finished while other students are still finishing up their assignments. I generally read when they are reading to set an example.

I often read a book through in just one sitting. I read pretty fast so that could be 3 hours or 10, depending on the length and complexity of the book. My husband is not much of a reader and will often read to get sleepy. I, on the other hand, will inadvertently read all night long if it really draws me in to the story.

As with other readers, I would have to say if the book is a nail biter I can ready for hours. There has been times when I wouldn't eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom until I read the entire book.

If the book grabs enough of my attention, I will read it from start to finish in as few sittings as possible. This happens so often that everything else falls by the wayside. My work, home and social lives take a total backseat in priority. Hahaha, I need to make time before I even start thinking about reading an interesting book.

If it's a good book I will reach the halfway point and want to finish it. I have been known to sit and read for about 3 hours to finish a good book.

In one sitting, I read until I finish the book. It doesn't matter what book it is.

I fall into the same category as most of the people here. If the book is amazing then I can read for hours without a break; I will even bring the book to the washroom. If the book is not well-written or interesting I have a hard time even spending an hour reading.

I've read books for hours until I look at the clock and realize I have an hour til I got to get up for work,. I'd go through 5-8 books a week, but lately things are so hectic, I'm lucky if I get a few pages in before exhaustion overtakes me.

Usually I read one to two hours, but it really depends of the book and the free time I have.

So for me it all depends on how or where I'm sitting. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this. If I'm sitting comfortably I can read hours on end, but if I'm not in a comfortable place I'm like "So, who wants to go outside and play some soccer?" I usually stay up till all hours of the night reading a book if I find it really interesting.
