First I write a review about every book that I read. Then I pass the book along to my sister. She lives a very busy life and has little time for reading so her stack keep growing.

I tend to put it on a shelf for a few weeks. After that I skim it to see if anything pops out at me, if not I usually trade them to used bookstores for store credit and start the process all over again.

I always keep my books stacked on my bookshelf even though it's getting full. It feels wrong (to me) to throw away books. It's like I'm throwing away my children. Giving them to others when you are through is okay, but personally I become too attached to let any of mine go.

If I love it and I think I'll read it again, it becomes a part of my personal library. If I think someone I know (and trust to borrow my books... which is a very short list) would enjoy it, I offer it up as a loaner with the understanding that it will come back home to my library when they're done reading it. (And that I will want to discuss it afterward!) If I didn't love it, or loved it but don't think I'll read it again, I go through my mental list of friends and family and see if it might find a happy home with one of them. If none of those apply, I will put it in a box with other like books until the box is full and take it to my favorite used bookstore to be applied to trade-in credit. If the proprietor of the bookstore isn't interested in buying it from me, I will simply leave it somewhere in public and release it through BookCrossing to find a reader who will love it.

If it's a good book; I'll treasure it and keep it. I will re-read it after a time and re-enjoy it again. If it's an okay book I will donate it since I believe that books as well as music or movies have to be circulating. If it's a really bad book it will go to the recycling. I venerate books too much to throw them in the trash.

I usually keep them on a shelf. But I noticed that I am slowing (or quickly) running out of room. So I have to decide if I am going to reread the book down the line or if it was a one time thing and sort some and take them to work. Thankfully with the Kindle I can have an entire library in the palm of my hand.

I used to several years ago put my books in the wild with bookcrossings. That was also an excellent way to find books as well. Maybe I will try that again if the site is still around. I usually did it with books that I only planned or reading once.

Keep the ones that speak to me in a fundamental way. Donate any cheap fiction that I payed for. Sell on ebay if there's a market....or MOST OFTEN....return them to the library.

Pretty much all of my books I read through my kindle, or I go to the library and check them out. I don't really re-read books because it just isn't exciting reading a book a second time to me.

Sometimes my wife will read a book after me but otherwise it just goes on the shelf to gather dust

Usually, when I am done reading a book, I take it back to the library. If it is one that one of my kids gave me to read then I give it back to the kid (to take back to the library). If it is one of the few that I bought, then I put it on the shelf of our home library.

I always keep my books. I tend to loan them out sometimes to friends who want to read them, but other than that, I always keep them.

I can't bare the thought of throwing away a book! Why would anyone do that?!

I find it so difficult to part with my books, I will always keep them whether they are paperback or hardcover.
