I could never skip any pages. (I hate going to the bathroom during a movie, too--no matter how bad the movie.) If I am reading a book that slows down like that. I'll just stop reading. And maybe pick it up again at a later date. I find myself doing that with Stephen King books like Tommyknockers and Needful Things, but then I pick it up again and can't stop reading.

 I actually do that. Before I start reading the actual content, I read the copyright page first and the book's publication history, the foreword, author's notes if there are any but I only read the blurbs and the author's mini-bio after I'm done with the book. I don't want them to influence my reading experience.

I guess, that answers the OP's question. No, I don't skip pages. I read every word in the book including long descriptive details of places, clothes etc.
I never even thought about counting the copyright page and most of the rest that you mentioned. I often read author's notes/acknowledgments and often the page with the books that the author has written, especially if it is a series. And I'll read the Author's mini-bio. I don't think I could bring myself to read the copyright page in every book!

No, I cannot skip pages. It's not possible for me. I will skim through a boring book that I really want to like just to see if it gets better but I still have to read every word. What if I miss something significant to the story? I'd be so lost. I can't skip episodes of my favorite shows for the same reason.

I don't usually skip pages unless It's a book I'm trudging through and I want to find any interesting bits to the story.

I never skip pages, but I am sometimes unable to resist peaking ahead to see what is coming!

I dont. Sometimes I skip through the preface if its boring, but never the main part.

I don't skip pages as I don't want to miss anything. That being said some authors go into far too much detail describing things such as the scenery or what someone is wearing or similar things and I will skip over these kinds of descriptions.

Sometimes when I get really tired I start skimming a little bit and have to go back to where I lost track, but other than that I read word to word, even though I read really fast I can still comprehend it all perfectly fine. When I was younger, I read a lot of big books, and reread them a lot too and I used to skip bits in effort to be fast, because I was very impatient, especially with thriller or romance buildups. Now I couldn't do it even if I wanted to, i feel the need to absorb all the information from the story. The only exception to this is when I am reading a really boring book and trying to stick with it, so I skim a little bit trying to see if it gets any better and is worth reading.

I read every page word for word. Does not matter how boring. I'm always so afraid I will miss some important information that makes the whole book together. I know this sounds crazy but its like a disorder. I feel bereft if I miss pages. Completely ruins a book for me.

I feel so guilty when I do this, but if it's getting boring I'll skip pages. Or if I'm too excited about what's happening I'll skip pages also.

I don't skip pages. I always read the book word for word. If it gets slow and I get bored with it to the point that I want to start skipping pages, I switch books.

Rarely. Will only do it if I find the book getting very boring but still want to try and finish it. Haven't done it for a while!

Usually I don't, expect one time I had to read The Age of Innocence for school, and my mom bought me this really awkwardly formatted book. The pages were humongous. I mean, you could've surfed on this thing. And of course, Edith Wharton's prose is a tad wordy to begin with...

I ended up reading the chapters out of order and pretending I was reading The Time Traveler's Wife. Plus, I think there's some pages in the middle somewhere I never really got to.

What a shame ;)

I love reading, but there are so many books in the world that I want to read that sometimes I don't have time to read every word in a book and so will skim. Some books aren't worth the time and energy it takes to read each and every word and paragraph.

I read everything word for word, but I do tend to cheat every once and a while and speed read, which, may i remind you, is not the same thing as skipping pages.
