If a person is noticeably separated from a crowd or distractions then I think its rude to interrupt them. If they are in a crowd or around family or friends then I think they should expect some kind of idisruption to be possible and not get offended when they are interrupted.

Yes, I think it is very rude to interrupt someone when they are reading. When you are reading a book you mind wonder to the place that you are reading. Filling your mind with the image and the character that are in the words of the book. It like you are on a adventure, and when someone interrupt you, your are force to come back to reality.

I think it's rude to interrupt someone when they're reading, however I also think it depends on the reason for the interruption. If something is on fire (not literally...) then I'd want to know about it and wouldn't be annoyed for being interrupted from my favorite pasttime.

It depends on why you're being interrupted. But usually, yes, it is a bit rude to pull someone out of their literary world.

Yes, I most definitely do! Same as interrupting a conversation. My husband has a tendency to not have anything to say to me unless I am reading? He also has the awful habit of playing videos ( at full volume) on his phone while I'm quietly reading also.

YES! Every time some interrupts me when I am reading I just want to turn around and break every bone in their little face. They only seem to want to interrupt when I get to a good part :(

It certainly is rude to interrupt someone while reading. It distracts you from your story and connection with the characters. It is exhausting to get back into what I was reading after my boyfriend interrupts me to get him a slice of pizza. I think if you don't read regularly, you won't understand the frustration of being interrupted.

I 100% agree. Interrupting someone while reading is very rude. I feel like anything that is not important can wait until after I finish reading my book. My husband does this to me all the time, ON PURPOSE. He waits until I am really into what I am reading and then aggravates and disturbs me. It would be okay if he did it because of some type of emergency, but he does it for stupid stuff. I think that I am going to have to find a place in my home where I cannot be found so that I can read peacefully.

Absolutely. Nothing makes me more annoyed than when someone feels the need to interrupt me while I am reading.

Yes, it is rude to interrupt people not only while they're reading, but while they're talking or writing too. My husband does it all the time and it makes me lose my concentration. He also has the TV blasting out. So yes, it is very rude and in my opinion, that person shows no consideration or manners.

Thats why I go to my secret place. Then no one can interupt me. Except for the wind and the birds. :-)

I don't usually get interrupted because I try to find times to read when I can concentrate on my book, usually when I have some time alone. When I have to go somewhere and wait in line for something, or wait in a waiting room for something, I always bring something to read, but I only read if there is no one to talk with because I think that it is rude to ignore people if someone wants to talk.

Being interrupted whilst reading is one of my pet hates. I use reading as an escape from my busy life. When I read, I tend to go find a quiet corner of the house and make a point of not wanting to be disturbed. So it does really bug me when someone can plainly see I dont want to be disturbed, but they choose to do so anyway. We all need some down time, right?
