I'd have to say Vidanric Renseleaus, former Marquis of Shevraeth turned King of Remalna, of Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith. He's a stoic character, so it's hard to know what goes on behind the mask and the clothes he puts on. He's an excellent military strategist and a formidable warrior. I imagine he can throw knives even in his sleep. But he is a nice person, a loyal friend, and a good king.

I would love to have an intelligent conversation with him...

Lieutenant Kanya Chirathivat from The Windup Girl.
I have no idea why! She's in no way on the "good side (assuming that there was even a good side in this book, everyone was flawed in some way)," she managed to do some pretty messed up things, but I had no choice but to sympathize with her difficulties.

I never fall in love with any fictional character. I love to read, but I always keep some distance between myself and the book I am reading.

I fell in love with Owen Meany. Months after I read the book, the characters in "A Prayer for Owen Meany" stayed in my mind. It was as though they actually existed and I could pick up the phone and call them. This book had truly unforgettable characters.

This may sound silly, but it is entirely true. I have recently fallen in love with Tarzan of the Apes. Edgar Rice Burroughs is a genius, and his Tarzan captures everything true and free that the deepest parts of my soul crave. He is the perfect picture of a wild heart. I envy that.

I fell in love with this little old man Harold from The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry. He set in his heart to make that trip and he had hard times and easier times, But I loved how he made it though the trip and how I could really connect with this character.

After reading my last "Harry Potter" book, we went to the final movie and OMG! The little girls in the audience were all screaming, "Harry Potter, Harry Potter . . ." during the previews of other movies. In that last movie he took off his shirt and those same girls sighed and screeched like girls did years ago for the Beatles. It was touching and hilarious. I believe a whole generation of girls will "love" Harry Potter for years to come. I hope all those girls also read the books, because the complete story had many more details than the movies and better described the traits that made Harry a hero. :D

There's two. One is Harris from Alexandra Connor's 'The Face In The Locket'. Reason being personality wise she's off the beaten track, came from a poor situation ended up living with the richies, doesn't fall in line with what the reader expects she should turn out like and is so perfectly human.

The other is Rose Gardner from Denise Grover Swank's Rose Gardner series. She's another square peg trying to fit into round holes and trips over everyone in the process including herself... She's brave and like many women I know doesn't actively go looking to change herself but it happens due to the journey she's on. She's also psychic, I'm noticing there's more of that coming through books these days and I'm liking it because it is becoming more 'normal' to admit to these kind of things. Oh and Rose is just hilarious.. They're a Murder/Mystery series.

Jamie Blackley "Adam" from "if i stay." He is kind of a douche bag but he is one of those guys that won't open up to everyone so when he opens up to Mia it's like awww he chose her. He's protective, sensative, jealous, cool, and passionate about music

From the moment I read Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, in high school lit. class I was crazy for Heathcliff! He is sensitive at the beginning of his life, but becomes harsh and hard. Catherine, is his only weak point. For me the real tragedy is he becomes what he hates the most. I guess I like those tragic bad boys? And I still think he is my most loved character today.
