It is on my to-read list! Glad to know people like it. I would suggest the Mastered Series by Lorelei James. It's a good mixture of romance/erotica and a decent plot.
Latest Review: "You, in Your Green Shirt" by Barbara Monier
I read this series kind of awhile ago, but I really enjoyed it. I really liked the main characters and watching how things evolved throughout the books. I definitely needed to know what happened next for them. Plus, I'm a huge fan of Dante's Inferno and loved the references.
Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James is a great. I recommend to any one that is about to read this trilogy to make sure you're buckled in tight! It's one heck of a roller coaster. While I'll admit the intimate scenes are pretty steamy, the emotions surrounding the two main characters are heartfelt. Christian and Anastasia have the ability to bespell the readers and wrap them up in their world. I give this Trilogy a 5 out of 5. Now, I just finished reading Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard Yesterday. While the story is pretty lengthy, I will admit it is a great read. [[SPOILER]] Julianne Mitchell is a troubled girl who has a troubled past. And even though she's been broken, she's not allowed her love for Gabriel (known as the infamous Professor Emerson) to shatter. Professor Emerson's character is very hard, cold and cynical. When he sees Julia again he knows that she is familiar, but he just can't figure out how it is that he knows her. In his dreams, he sees a woman who looks just like her....a woman who saved him from his crippling past. He's so upset by Julia's presence, he becomes colder and harsher, putting all of his fury on her. But Julia's compassion will not be broken. I admire Julia's character because, even though it seems she's weak, she manages to pull through whatever problem she is faced with. And although Gabriel seems strong on the outside, he cannot seem to stay away from Julia's light...."a light to his darkness" as Professor Emerson would say. Honestly, these two couldn't have been more perfect for each other. Sylvain did a great job portraying who the characters were and what they mean to each other. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
I enjoyed the first two books in this series but struggled to stay engaged in the last book. I felt like the author ran out of material and depth and was just stringing us along in the end. The first encounter and the beginning of the relationship were a good read though.
I really enjoyed all three of these books. A friend of mine recommended them to me and I am very glad that I had the chance to read them. They made you want to believe in love and romance all over again. To remind you that romance is not dead and that fairy tales can come true.
Not what I expected especially after hearing comparisons with Fifty Shades. It's more realistic and less explicit and very poetic. So different from Fifty, only similarities are the effed up characters.
