I have heard horrible things about those places in that state I don't even want to mention.
And this is coming from a girl who grew up near Mississippi....

Here's a slightly "adult" joke:

A guy and girl were getting hot and heavy in the back seat. She whispered "Ooohh, kiss me where it smells." So he drove her to New Jersey.

Charleston, S.C., in the summer months...no fancy restaurants, southern ambience, and beautiful architecture, can ameliorate the swamp-like humidity and cockroaches so huge, ya can ride them w/a saddle...UUUGH...

The Maghreb. Morrocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. Geographically, they are pristine. Long,
uninhabited beaches, skylines that go on for miles, clear blue skies, and a coloration
that is tropical. There is a natural architecture provided by the desert outcroppings
that competes with the ancient Berber buildings for the mind's eye.
But none of this can adequately counter the hostility shown outsiders to make the Maghreb attractive to foreign visitors. I will never go back.

Hmmm I like Atlanta, except for the traffic.

LOL @ Statesville NC. Been there. Stayed at a pretty nasty hotel there once.

It has to be Grafenwohr, Germany. I was stationed in Germany in the early 1970s and part of my duty was to do field maneuvers twice a year for one month each time. It was the Cold War and we maintained 10,000 troops in Graf, as we called it, to counter the 50,000 Russian troops that were positioned across the Czech border, no more than 20 miles away. Twice we stayed in wooden barracks, but in February of 1971, we lived in Tent City. The high temperature for the first week we were there was 7 below zero. I have pictures of the tents we lived in covered with snow. It would not have been bad if we could have stayed in the tents all of the time, but the mess hall and showers were in a building at the end of the rows of tents. Several times while we were there, the fuel lines to the two small oil-building stoves were cut. I would wake up with icicles in my mustache.

That sounds like a lousy place and situation. Worst place I have been in the winter was Missoula, Montana. At night it got to 30 and 40 below zero, we worked as door-to-door salesmen at night. We couldnt stay out more than a half hour or so at one time. The Clark Fork river froze solid from top to bottom. Needless to say, we didnt make many sales that week.

Roppongi in Tokyo is totally overrated. It's so dirty there. Way different from other areas of Tokyo like around Tokyo tower and the palace...

When I was a kid I went with another family to Salton Sea, which is a salt lake in south eastern California. We arrived late in the afternoon, stripped to our bathing suits and went fishing. It was so hot that we actually sat in the water with our fishing rods. At midnight we gave up and crawled into their camping trailer to sleep. Sleep never happened, though. It never got below 100 degrees. By ten in the morning, the temp was 110, se we packed up and left, never to return.

That reminds me of a lake in Utah where we went camping one weekend. It was well known for golden trout and we wanted to try our luck. It was hot, dusty and mosquito heaven. We had to throw our poles down and slap mosquitos they were so thick. Repellent didnt do much good, we stayed half a day and left. Miserable place.
