Does anyone else's cat sit on their chest when they read?

My cat only wants to cuddle when I am reading. Any other time of day when I want to love her she ignores me, but the second I break out a book she is all over me. I can try and shove her away, sure, but she is right back on my chest in ten seconds!

Hehe. My cat does the same, but I don't mind. It's cute. I'd gladly sacrifice a small amount of reading time for cuddles

It seems that they only want affection when you choose something else over them, otherwise they are quite content ignoring their humans. I guess it is not all the time, but it does happen quite a lot.

Indeed! Sometimes I'll let her sniff a bit of what I'm eating and if she likes it I'll give her some. So far I've discovered that she likes Heinz beans, peas, tomato ketchup, grapes and chicken soup

I really wish I had a cat! I used to have a cat when I still lived at home with my parents... but now I am all alone... my cat used to sit on my bed while I sat on the floor in front of the bed and read... and he would chew on my hair.
